    This restaurant is not ready for prime time. Drinks (which were basic) took more than 30 minutes each round. Our waiter actually gave up on offering anything other than wine. The food was generally ok. Our appetizers (shrimp and grits and ravioli) were great. Entrees were not — the burger was a salt lick which we had to send back — which we never do. Prime rib was edible and average (though above average in price). The ambiance and seating were weird — like a Chilis in a church. Our table was in a service hallway. No one checked in on us very much or seemed to care that the experience was dismal. The managers seemed to know we were having a rough ride and avoided us like the plague. On top of it all, it was my birthday. I didn’t expect anything for that — even an acknowledgment— and I certainly didn’t get anything — which was fine. But why ask when taking the reservation? MYOB if you’re not going to be bothered. The little monogrammed box they brought the check in was nice. If only the rest of the experience was as thoughtful as the part where they take your money. Back to the old reliable Tasting Room.

    We had an absolutely amazing meal last night. The beet appetizer will be ordered every time. The rockfish and the salmon were sublime and I refuse to pick a favorite. The Brussel sprouts were crispy and creamy. To finish we had the lemon meringue and wye oak cake- both whimsical and delicious. The service was friendly and very helpful with wine and food choices. Absolutely a fantastic addition to Frederick!

    Really great, just opened with elevated dynamic options, wonderful cocktails. Inside is gorgeous, very interesting concept and design.

    Amazing restaurant. The service and the atmosphere was fantastic. Our server Ben did a phenomenal job recommending what was on the menu, especially the lemon dessert!!!

    Loved Wye Oak Tavern! The building is beautiful and the interior is gorgeous. We ordered the Tavern rolls with ham to start. They were delicious. The guys had the burgers and we all shared the macaroni and the Brussels sprouts. Everything was top notch! The martini was served on a silver tray. It was in a nice rocks glass with a square block of ice. Beside it was an extra mini-carafe of the excess martini in it sitting on ice to keep it cold! Can’t wait to go back!

    For a restaurant only being open a few days I was impressed on how well the service ran and the food was excellent. Very excited to have a new Voltaggio restaurant in the area. Only bummer is no open kitchen, but the space is beautiful.

    Wonderful experience. They are still working out a few kinks in the front of house, but alls well that ends well. ( Someone who arrived after us seated before us, coat check was wrong first time ) . Our server was A++ , beautiful ambiance, the food was fantastic.

    Congratulations to Chef Michael Voltaggio and Chef Bryan Voltaggio on the Grand Opening of their restaurant at the Wye Oak Tavern. It was a pleasure to share in the experience and to enjoy their extraordinary culinary creations! We particularly savored the Cold Fried Chicken Pate, the Cheese Ravioli (Bryan’s signature dish), and the Rigatoni. All the dishes were elevated by the brilliant wine pairings suggested by their remarkable sommelier, Steven Zmuda.
