    Pretty good "pure" Greek cuisine (lots of "Mediterranean" places in Austin) but could use some improvement by increasing quality of ingredients. With so many "farm to table" restaurants in Austin, you can tell the difference in sourcing; it's not bad, just average. That being said, I'd still come back for the ambiance and friendly staff.

    We heard about Yamas from some friends and decided to give the place a go. The hostess at the front was great but the experience soon went downhill. From there. We were assigned a waitress who just didn't really seem to give a hoot about any of the people she was assigned. I always say to myself if you don't like your job, just quit and get a new one. Especially when you are one in the hospitality business. The drinks came out and they were lackluster and soon the food came out And the only thing that I can say about that was the filet mignon was grilled to perfection. My partner ordered the sea bream which was absolutely terrible, She couldn't even finish it. The waitress only came to our table once the whole entire time and we were there for at least an hour. The waitress didn't know Jack nothing about the wines and when we were finished, I bloody well had to go and ask for the check and the boxes myself. I only have one statement for this establishment's staff, "DO BETTER". This experience was not worth $150. Very disappointing.

    Parking at entrance and across the street. Atmosphere is friendly and reminiscent of Greece. Service is attentive. Food is incredibly delicious. We had the bass and beef short rib dishes for mains. Grilled octopus starter is the best we have had. Baklava is authentic; not too sweet. Would definitely recommend (make reservations!), and will return on our next visit to Austin.

    Food is fantastic consistent and staff is great. Not a bad table in the house. Families are welcome. Proprietor’s often onsite, are passionate and delightful.

    Overall had a positive experience. The service was not what expected. It was our first time dinning here. No recommendations were made, we weren’t checked in on very often, and tables were way too close to one another.

    I wish I had read the other reviews complaining about the noise level before booking a table. The noise was so loud you couldn’t have a conversation without yelling or speaking directly into the other person’s ear. Food was okay but lacking in spices. I had the pastitsio. It apparently was put on a plate that was in the frig - although the food was hot the part actually sitting on the plate were ice cold. Based on their prices they’re extremely proud of their food - perhaps they need to try tasting it. Not going back and recommend others give it a pass.

    The ambiance is great. The white and blue decor and the greek ocean murals make you feel like you are eating in Santorini. Lots of varying choices on the menu. The tuna tar tar and spanakopita was wonderful. We also got the large meat platter and all the meat was cooked to perfection. There was plenty for our group of 5. The only negatives to our experience is that the restaurant is so loud you can barely hear the person across the table. Everyone was in their 30's so it wasn't age related. The waitstaff was very busy and the service was a bit slow but once we ordered the food came out quickly and was delicious. I would totally recommend this restaurant except if you have catching up to do with an old friend, otherwise you will be yelling all night.

    Wonderful atmosphere. Served nailed our service expectations and was not pushy which was a nice change. Loud and energetic inside but could still have a conversation. Food was very good!
