Ye Olde Punchbowl Inn is certainly Ye Olde, even by the standards of British country pubs. The building has been there for at least 700 years – nobody knows exactly how long it has stood on what is now Ludlow Road – and has been a pub since 1740, serving the traveller, the public of Bridgnorth and all others who entered their doors. The menu now is classically British, with a full AGA carvery, a gastro menu and a full wine list that takes in the best of local ingredients. Reserve a table and gather up your whole crew for a meal that has stood the test of time.

Take a trip down Ludlow Road just outside Bridgnorth – south of Telford and east of Wolverhampton – and experience something that applies new methods to classically British cuisine and the famous AGA Carvery. Proud to be the official first innovator of the AGA carvery. – so book a table now.

Please note we welcome outdoor dining when our gardens are available. We guarantee the use of our gardens on Sunday to everybody. If we have an event on such as a wedding, these clients have paid exclusivity for this and you will be denied access should an event take place the day you intend to visit us. Please ring in advance to check garden availability, especially in the summer months! We do not offer table service outside. Any online reservations made all tables are assigned inside the venue, if you have a specific table or area you would like to sit, please ring direct, we cannot guarantee which table you will be assigned online as it is done automatically. If you have specific allergies that require attention in advance please ring and ask for our chefs who will be more than happy to discuss bespoke dishes with 72 hours notice. For any high risk airborne allergy suffer we advise not to consume what we have on offer as food is prepared on site in an open environment.

For private events, large parties, weddings, wakes, black tie dinner events, themed entertainment nights or any corporate event you must ring an events manager direct if any party exceeds 8 people. Our main function room can capacitate up to 200 people and has its own internal bar, private entrance and benefits exclusive private gardens with a large terrace, outdoor space and finally with a fully functional state of the art outdoor bar! During Covid-19 we must book all guests for HSE requirements for track and trace during this pandemic. We respectfully ask all guests adhere to our policies to create a safe dining experience for everyone and safe guarding our staff is very important to us as a company. SUNDAY SERVICE TABLE ALLOCATION The only day we use our large banqueting room is on Sunday lunchtimes if you would prefer to sit in a certain room you must book these time slots 12noon | 2pm | 4pm Bookings in OLD RESTAURANT AREA 1pm | 3pm Bookings in BANQUETING LARGE ROOM

Great. Carvery choice of 3 or 4 meats. Vegetables choice of around 10 types. Dessert choice of about 8 plus choice of coffees. It's a 'choice' place. I don't think you will disappointed if you choose to visit.

Me and my partner visited for the first time today as we had been recommended by family and friends, the food was absolutely amazing,, staff were friendly and prompt, and it was a great price would recommend to all,, thank you

If I could give a zero for service I would the staff were rude, it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive which at that point we had nearly finished our food. It then took a further 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared and be checked on by a staff member. The noise level was awful for the vibe of the building having screaming children running around while people are eating is not a good look for people. Through all of this for the price of the meal itself was astronomical not happy at all needs major improvement.

First time here and won’t be the last. Travelled from near Wrexham for the carvery and was well worth it! Great choice of meats as well as lovely selection of fresh roast potatoes, parsnips, stuffing, Yorkshire puds and veg along with all the condiments you could wish for. Piping hot plates too. Friendly, helpful staff running through the menu, such as soup of the day etc. Would highly recommend a visit but make sure you book as it’s very popular.

The carvery was excellent, with a choice of three meats and a good variety of vegetables. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was good. The surroundings were comfortable. A very pleasant dining experience.

Carvery was very nice - but I was looking forward to Pork and there was none. I was told that even when pork was on the menu they did not have crackly - as there had previously been arguments when it ran out. Was also very disappointed that the wine I selected off the wine list came at a different price on my receipt, to that advertised on the wine list. I pointed this out to the waiter who did not seem concerned and said only that the prices on the wine list were wrong. I suggested that they find the volume control button the the phone and TURN IT DOWN as every time the phone rang the noise was very disturbing.

What a disappointment today Soup cold taken back & heated in microwave together with buttered bread roll !! carvery cold plates less selection of vegetables than normal which again were Luke warm No cranberry sauce as they had run out at 12.30!, At point of payment these issues were reiterated to the waiter who passed no comment or even offered any apology His colleague behind the bar was only concerned in getting the payment from us Having been a regular customer for years will now go elsewhere in future as we felt that our concerns were met with contempt.
