Yves Restaurant was inspired by Smith & Mills owners adoration of the small and highly personalized owner-operated neighborhood Café culture in Paris (Montmartre) and North Africa, Morocco. Yves occupies a two hundred year old former Seafarers Inn, across from the main downtown Hudson River entrance. The restaurant is washed in a minimalist design aesthetic in the heart of picturesque Tribeca. The photographic artwork is inspired by the marriage of fashion, design, community and people. The menu exudes clean and modern French fare sprinkled with a Moroccan influence. Although refined, the dishes are comforting, approachable and familiar. Our culinary team’s approach is simple sophistication balanced with a side of whimsy and fun.
Yves has been labeled the best view to water and people watching in Tribeca. The 46 seat (interior seating) is made much larger feeling by the 80 plus outdoor seats (weather permitting) on the corner of N Moore st with the Hudson River in the backdrop.

WHen Yves opened several years ago, it was terrific. It is just fair now -- the hamburger (I asked for no cheese) had the remnants of cheese on it which they sloppily scraped off the burger and bun. The bun was soggy. The burger was salty. The fries were good, better than at most places, but again, they used to be better. They were also served barely warm instead of hot. The nicoise salad that my friend ordered was stingy in terms of the tuna. The chocolate tart was good, and the serving was generous. It is very noisy. They play the music so loudly that you can't hear the conversation at your own table.

People who work there are not passionate about what they are doing. They are bored and this is what you understand when they serve you… c’est dommage

Arrived for a 745 reservation at 740 to be told they’re booked up and told to come back in 15 minutes even while seeing two open tables available. We went back in15 and were told they would have something available in 5 minutes. We were not seated till 840 then waited for a menu for 10 minutes, and another 15 to order. Terrible service. Then the fish though delicious had several bones still left in.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Great setting. Only somewhat negative was that it was a prix fixe menu and there was no indication when the reservation was made that it would be so. Also the fixed price was not listed anywhere. So, it was a bit surprising at the end to see the actual cost.

i don’t remember my servers name but he was amazing! not only to me, but i saw him around the whole restaurant being attentive. every recommendation was spot on & the pasta dish is the best!!!
