Across from the historic New Haven Green, ZINC offers an innovative seed-to-plate menu that celebrates the surrounding community.     We made reservations for the restaurant prior to a show at the Shubert. It’s the perfect location to eat dinner if you’re going to one of the two theaters right there in New Haven. They held our table for us, even though we arrived late due to much traffic. We had a perfect table location, the restaurant was not too noisy, and we could have quiet conversation The wait staff was perfectly attentive to filling our waters and asking if we needed anything The menu didn’t have lots of choices, but what they did have looked amazing and the two dinners that we got tasted wonderful. A really wonderful blend of flavors, and spices which made the whole thing well balanced. I would definitely eat here again

    Two people for lunch — Steak frites perfectly cooked (medium rare), fragrant and slightly spicy chimichurri sauce underneath and really tasty, well seasoned and crispy fries along with some simply dressed greens. A lovely plate! Knowledgeable server (Emily) patiently brought three tastes of red wine (I’m a novice with reds) till I chose. Dark, rich well brewed coffee and a very dense chocolate torte (with an apricot-lemon jam and whipped cream on the side. Very interesting menu and inventive desserts. Highly recommend. Easy parking nearby in the Crown Street garage or on the street. On the south side of The Green.

    This was our third Valentines Day at Zinc and we were disappointed. The food was barely warm. The noise level was terrible.

    Zinc is a wonderful desination in New Haven. Always dependable with consistently good food and service (over 20+ years) and always some new exciting thing on the menu. Love the location, food and staff always!

    We had an amazing dinner at Zinc. The Thai green curry was outstanding. Service and ambience were excellent. Highly recommend this place for dinner!
