Eating & Drinking on the waterfront in Kingscote.

The Zone Restaurant & Bar is located in the Chapman Building of the Aurora Ozone Hotel and features stunning views over Nepean Bay. Open daily for breakfast from 6:30 – 10:00am, lunch from 11:30 – 2:30pm, and dinner from 5:00 – 8:00pm, the menu focuses on international cuisine, seafood and local Kangaroo Island produce.

Enjoy the relaxed vibe of The Zone Restaurant & Bar with its walls decorated in old photos and newspaper articles providing a look into its heritage. You will also notice colourful pieces of artwork featured throughout the The Zone Restaurant created by local Kangaroo Island artist Neil Sheppard (Shep’s Studio).

    Expensive. Food is not tasty. Staff over worked and unable to provide service. But town choice is limited. And don’t order the coffee-unusually horrible.

    The food was OK., but the fish very small and a bit dry andvthe lamb was not cooked long enough to be soft. We had expected more. The desert was very good.

    I highly recommend booking a table online as Restaurant is very popular. The steak we had was cooked perfectly and come out of relatively quick for the amount of people in there. It wasn't noisy even though room was full and table service was very quick.

    Very good food, perfectly cooked steak, actually one of the best steaks I’ve had eating out in a very long time. Dessert was ok. Table service can be improved by wait staff not leaning over guests who are still eating to clear plates. Walk around to the other side of the table, also don’t harras your customers. 3 different staff in the space of about 2 minutes tried to clear our table and ask if we wanted mains brought out even though we still had starters on the table. Just chill, you might be in a hurry but we are paying good money to be there so are entitled to enjoy our meal without being rushed.

    Lovely food, excellent service. The waiters brought my birthday cake to the table singing happy birthday and quite a number of other guests sang along. Thank you for a memorable celebration.

    Service was friendly from the outset, booking onwards! Meal orders and service in a timely many as was drinks. Flavours , quality and quantity of meal and presentation excellent ! Loved the sides especially wok fried greens!! So We went back 2 nights later for a repeat!!
