Well known and loved for wild game, steaks and seafood, Rainbow Lodge features lunch, dinner & Sunday brunch. Owner Donnette Hansen's attention to detail is reflected in everything from the comfortable refined log cabin setting & landscaped grounds to the seasonally changing menus. Insider's tip: go for the business lunch ($19 for three courses). Sophisticated but not stuffy! Menu hits include elk chops, grilled buffalo tenderloin, Lodge smoked duck gumbo. Do not miss the famous TIED FLY BAR! with its crafted cocktails and views of an acre of grounds, the bar is the most popular seat in the house. Often voted best patio in Houston, Sunday Brunch enthusiasts enjoy casual patio dining with $2 mimosas. Sunday Suppers feature half price wines by the glass. Live Music Fridays on the patio too.

    Went for the Sunday night dinner special (CFS), which was served quickly and was outstanding. Price is now $18/per, which remains a bargain for this outstanding Houston restaurant. It is a hidden - both the meal and the restaurant.

    Thank you for being open on Thanksgiving. Food was exceptional. The service was well beyond expected. I just love this place. If your looking for a option to your standard steakhouse for either a family or business meal, put this into your rotation. Everyone will find a gem to enjoy on their menu.

    We had a wonderful experience at Rainbow Lodge! The food was excellent, service great, and ambience wonderful. The weather was cold and breezy and our table was outside, but the restaurant had heaters placed throughout the patio to keep us warm. Our server was efficient very pleasant. We had a great time!

    I’d heard a lot about Rainbow Lodge through the years so was looking forward to dining there since I never had. Unfortunately, my experience was most unenjoyable. We went for Thanksgiving, and perhaps that was the mistake. I selected the wild game trio for my appetizer and the bison was all gristle. The other two in our party that ordered the same didn’t have the same experience. Their meat was good. I also ordered the turkey and dressing dinner (it was Thanksgiving after all) and it was mediocre at best. The pecan pie dessert was good as was the fried oyster appetizer we ordered. The main issue was the lackluster service. We spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for a plate for our appetizers, steak knives for our meat, forks for our dessert, etc. All of these should have arrived prior to the food arriving. It definitely felt like our server would rather be anywhere but the Rainbow Lodge. It also felt like he was a new hire or temp because he wasn’t trained on proper service (how to place items on table, etc). It makes me sad because I really wanted to love this experience.
