Well known and loved for wild game, steaks and seafood, Rainbow Lodge features lunch, dinner & Sunday brunch. Owner Donnette Hansen's attention to detail is reflected in everything from the comfortable refined log cabin setting & landscaped grounds to the seasonally changing menus. Insider's tip: go for the business lunch ($19 for three courses). Sophisticated but not stuffy! Menu hits include elk chops, grilled buffalo tenderloin, Lodge smoked duck gumbo. Do not miss the famous TIED FLY BAR! with its crafted cocktails and views of an acre of grounds, the bar is the most popular seat in the house. Often voted best patio in Houston, Sunday Brunch enthusiasts enjoy casual patio dining with $2 mimosas. Sunday Suppers feature half price wines by the glass. Live Music Fridays on the patio too.

    The entire family had New Year’s Eve dinner and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, great portions and very flavorful. The desserts were a perfect way to cap off a beautiful evening and start a brand new year. The staff was friendly and very accommodating to questions about the menu and food. Our server who was from Australia was 10 out of 10!!

    The ambiance and environment was really nice. It was a very intimate quiet space and our server, Izzy, was really nice but the kitchen took a very long time to prepare our entrees. For a prefixed new year eve dinner menu with select items, I didn’t expect they would take such a long time. We did have a large party of 9, and they were very accommodating, making sure we had an extra heating lamp and sufficient table space. We waited so long the manager, Mary, came out to our table to apologize. Didn’t really help, we just wanted our food because we had no intention of spending our new year until midnight there and had to leave to go somewhere else. The restaurant didn’t appear that packed. We asked for some drinks and they accommodated by giving us 4 shots of silver tequila. Was an odd number, but free is free I suppose. Still would have appreciated our food on time reasonably, so we could continue our evening. The food was ok, I ordered the seared halibut, which was only ok. I wouldn’t order it again. Girlfriend had the ribeye with a chimichurri, which was very good. I want to like this place and may give it another shot. We’ll see.

    Food and service were excellent. Robert our server was wonderful, restaurant was festive and provided delicious menu options for new years eve. Couldn’t be more pleased with Rainbow Lodge.

    We have been here a number of times over the years and the ambiance is fantastic. The service is very good and the food is usually over the top good. We are a family with some food allergies and even with that the dishes ordered in the past were fantastic, and it was obvious that the chef was very skilled and did a great job at making them as close as possible with a few alterations. This time was very different. For those of us who have the food allergies the food came out very plain. It was what we ordered but no attempt seemed to be made to substitute any sauce just plain protien that was chosen. Still had a great time just disappointed a bit.

    Most beautiful place, great waiter and food very good. Oysters came cold. Snapper a little dry. Everything else tasted wonderful.
