We made reservations 2 weeks in advance. Arrived on time and waited a few minutes to be seated. Not a problem. We were seated at a small table next to the entrance to the service area and kitchen. The ambiance for that table was not great. We ordered a bottle of wine and when it arrived it was incorrect. Server realized that immediately upon being told it was not what we ordered. When she came back, she had a different vintage and we were told that they were out of our preferred wine and offered this as a replacement, which was fine, just not as good as J Lohr. We ordered the filet mignon and the fish special, halibut. Halibut was good, filet was a bit over at "medium" as it was more like medium well and tough. We also asked to split a Caesar salad, as we noticed their salads looked huge for a dinner salad for one. The salad was okay, but the lettuce looked old, not like it was just chopped from the head of romaine. Overall, it was disappointing to spend $180 before tip for this dinner. They were busy and our servers were hopping, but we felt a bit overlooked. I often wonder if the server expects us to be cheap if we ask to split a salad and don't order additional sides? We can't eat that much food and won't take leftovers back to the hotel room to eat later. This was just our second visit to the Range in over 20 years of visiting Laughlin. We may be back, but probably not next visit.
