The restaurant of choice of many distinguished diners and restaurant critics, Ristorante La Perla of Washington, located near Georgetown at the tail-end of the historic Pennsylvania Avenue, takes its diners on a culinary journey through Italy with elegant decor surpassed only by authentic mouth-watering Italian masterpieces. Chef-Owner Vittorio Testa will make you feel like you're dining in his house. The waiters exceed expectations, and the space is garnished with painted tiles and Venetian glass to make every dining occasion a memorable one. There's also Private dining and Outdoor seating when the weather permits.

    Prices are surprisingly high-for example $21 for a plain appetizer caesar salad. The restaurant seems on the decline-mostly empty on a Saturday evening. Staff seems untrained and slow; hampered by lack of bartender. Very sad--we liked this place in the past. We will not return.

    Truly a horrible horrible restaurant. We were seated 20 minutes late, bread service came 20 minutes after that. Appetizers were 3x overpriced. Burrata had the texture and flavor of cream cheese. Came with 1 slice of prosciutto. For $30. The pastas were just okay at best. The carbonara had oddly floppy unsalted bacon pieces and the egg was slightly cooked within the sauce. The service was beyond abysmal. They gave us 6 menus for a party of 7 and told two of us to share. I could understand this if the restaurant was full but there were about15-20 seats around us empty. What happens to those patrons? Take your money elsewhere quickly. Cannot express how disappointing this entire experience was. They also didn’t mark that we attended the reservation, so i got an email from OpenTable the next morning scolding me for missing it. At this point i wish i did!

    The owner came out to greet us and thanked us for being there. The menu is over 57 years old. The food was scrumptious. Our waiter was fabulous.

    Great place for Italian and before going to Kennedy center. Service is excellent. Pasta very nice. The carbonara is a bit too soupy but still tasty. I personally like it drier w the cracked pepper, Parmesan and egg coating the pasta. Appetizers and bread were excellent. Glass of Chianti to bring it together was delightful.

    Restaurant gave new meaning to phrase “very poor service. “ Waited thirty minutes for waiter to take our orders. Another 45 for appetizers to arrive. Do not intend ever go back.

    The restaurant was empty. When I sat down the staff did not bring water until I asked. I also had to ask to order a glass of wine. The food was okay. The tomato with the burrata was not the best. Usually, the tomato’s are stellar with a dish like this, or maybe that’s just in NY? Definitely don’t need to go back.

    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE,LOVE EVERYTHING about Ristorante La Perla of Washington. The hostess is exceptional...she greets us warmly to the restaurant and throughout our time there, she always checks on us to make sure we are being taken care of. The wait staff is wonderful...the owner/manger always comes around to greet each patron and thank them for coming. And the food...EXQUISITE!!!! The best Italian restaurant in the DMV!
