The service was super nice and friendly and helpful. We had a fish and they accommodated us by changing the type of fish and we had it with the Chinese style preparation and it is was absolutely delicious. The apps were delicious to we had crab cakes and poke (warning very large portion for poke). The pineapple upside down cake and lava were amazing. We did not like sitting outside on the balcony as weird people walk through and we felt a little uncomfortable. Overall recommend for food and maybe eat inside as outside is on balcony facing street.

Roy's was as amazing as I remember it 10 years ago. Decided to take the family out for one final meal before we headed back to LA and knew I needed to get my miso butter fish fix. We have lived away from Hawaii for 3 years now and I have yet to find a butter fish dish that is anywhere near the one at Roy's. And of course it didn't disappoint. Everything thing we ate was phenomenal and worth the pretty penny. On to the service.... I worked in the industry for close to 10 years so I'm usually pretty understanding when we get a server that's had a bad shift or seems rude. I noticed most recently on this trip home that a lot of places have taken a dive with service. It was a real bummer to see and experience on vacation.... AS FOR ROY'S they are far from it. What a breath of fresh air! Everyone who came to our table was wonderful. From the host to the busser's, we felt so special and all the staff seemed so happy to be there. It was the highlight of discussion for the evening. In a nutshell, if you are looking for an exquisite meal and 5 star service book your reservation here, I promise you won't be disappointed.

We love everything about Roy’s! The ambiance, the staff and the delicious food! This is the second year in a row that we’ve come for our anniversary! This one being our 40th!

We did not expect to be seated right next to a very energetic table of at least twenty guests celebrating some event. It was much louder than we anticipated. The service was good, but the short rib and butterfish were a little sweet for our tastes. The appetizers and entrees we ordered were alright, but a little overpriced. Overall, based on the pricing and wait time, Roy’s did not quite amount to our expectations, especially for the traffic and ratings we saw.

Food was really good. It did take a long time for dinner to arrive after apps, and also a long time for dessert after the main course even though we preordered it

We have celebrated holidays there for years, but prices has gone way up with no improvement. Too noisy, screaming children with nothing done. Not an enjoyable ambiance. Time to find somewhere else.
