Sale e Pepe of Knightsbridge is a London institution welcoming generations of guests and lovers of traditional Italian food, ranging from British to Hollywood royalty, politicians, writers, singers, theatre goers, shoppers and residents alike with great atmosphere, familiar faces and classic Italian hospitality.

Located next to Sloane Street, one of London's most exclusive fashion shopping streets, we are a two minute walk from Harrods and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.

The restaurant started service out of two shop fronts on Pavilion Road in 1974, and in 1985 it was extended further to create a bar providing the perfect location for pre and after dinner drinks.

Overall it’s a shame this restaurant does not live up to its well established reputation, it does not represent Italian culture while charges are not worthy of the experience. Disappointed after a long wait to make this visit. The positives were food was plentiful and the setting was really nice , excellent refurb also very nice crockery glassware etc. The service was a mixed bag and not received well. The sterile rigid reception on entering, items being forgotten during service. Wine that was not that well chilled and incorrect charges. We felt the service was high volume style but there were 4 tables circa 15 covers. We choose not to pay the service charge interestingly this wasn’t questioned as to why we didn’t feel it was not worth paying. Food was average to good, Playlist is awful and ruins the atmosphere. Fair bit of repitition on the menu. Heavily lacking authenticity and modern Italian warmth, service, menu design and structure. The experience was worth 60% of what we paid. Quite simply you can eat a for a lot higher quality for far less.

Sale e Pepe has long been one of my favorite restaurants in London; I have been going there for more than 25 years, and they have never disappointed. The quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff is never anything short of excellent. For this visit, I hosted a special celebration dinner and everyone in attendance raved about the experience.

The food was delicious and the staff were attentive. However the table behind us was vaping on vape pens throughout. We thought this might have been stopped by the staff but we could smell it from the moment they stepped in and started vaping throughout their meal.

Today after renovation it was my first time visiting this restaurant. Before renovation there was awesome service, friendly waiters but now all of them are rude, unkind, arrogant. Also price for food increased 2x than it was. It was my favourite restaurant before renovation but now i will never go back there. Do not recommend!!!!!

We have dined here before. It is a nice restaurant. I noticed the wines are now at a very high mark up AND 15% service charge on top which I deem unfair

Such a nice ambience and vibe at their little Italian tucked away in Knightsbridge. I took my fiancée for a Valentine’s Day dinner and was not disappointed. Very considerate staff and service was perfection.
