We visited on New Years Eve. I thought they closed later on that day because they allowed us to make an 11p reservation. They called us at 11p to ask if we would be there soon because they were closing at 11p. Luckily we had just parked. I didn’t understand why they allowed an 11p reservation if they closed at 11p. Having dinner when the place is closing makes things seemed hurried and rushed and we just wanted a quiet relaxing dinner with great ambiance.
My wife ordered the Mushroom Flatbread and she said it was excellent! She really enjoyed it. I ordered the 6oz Filet cooked medium, with Yukon potatoes and broccolini. I was disappointed. Because of the late hour, the kitchen was pretty much closed and I didn’t want to send it back. I had looked forward to this meal all day!
Let me start with what was right about my meal. The steak was a good cut. Nice and tender, not overly seasoned. On the other hand, it was more medium rare than medium, which is a little too under cooked for my liking. I didn’t get the Yukon mashed potatoes…. They were whole, petite potatoes. Also, my broccolini, were grilled, which made my tops, dry. I thought it would have been steamed. I’ll take that as me neglecting to clarify if it was grilled or steamed. The red wine sauce was not pleasing and the filet would have stood better without it. I was very disappointed. We wanted dessert but because I really didn’t eat my dinner we chose to pass. Besides, they were closed and we understand people wanted to go home as soon as possible after they get off.
Overall, my experience was not as good as i had hoped. I took my filet home washed the red sauce off and made a breakfast burrito on New Years morning.
I’m not sure if I will return, but if I do, I’ll order a flatbread like my wife.
