In 2009, we became Oxford’s neighborhood restaurant and living room. The brain child of Award-Winning Chef, John Currence, Snackbar is a Southern Brasserie that prides itself on using local Mississippi ingredients whenever possible. We are your place for the freshest raw oysters from around the country, artfully crafted cocktails, and fine internationally-inspired food cultivated by 2019 James Beard ‘Best Chef: South’, Vishwesh Bhatt.     One of Oxford's premier dining establishments came through once again. Our superb fish and chips Friday special followed extraordinary shrimp ravigote and seasoned French fries appetizers. Mint semifreddo dessert finished out our experience. An Englishman seated nearby gave hearty approval to Vish's fish, and he should know, right? Service by Derrick made us feel like we were in a 3 star Michelin site.

    Snack Bar had good food, as always. Eaten there multiple times, and will definitely go there again. Guests from out of town always appreciate the experience.

    Ox tail ragoo was NOT good. Placed reservation a week early and when we got there the table wasn’t even ready.

    This is our favorite place in town for special occasions or just a nicer night out! They have prices for sandwiches ranging from $16+ or entrees for about double. The desserts here are always the best in town!

    The food and ambience at Snack Bar is the best in Oxford, MS. The service is always astounding. Chelsea is wonderful. The steak is always cooked perfectly. This is by far my favorite Oxford restaurant and where I would take out of town guests for a very nice meal.

    Don’t be mislead by the outside appearance of this restaurant being in a strip mall. As soon as you enter the door, the true ambience of a fine dining experience awaits. Our server was polite and well versed in describing the menu options and go to dishes. My wife chose the halibut and I went with the Osso Buco beef. Both were displayed creatively and unique. The halibut was baked perfectly, and the Osso was steamy hot and pure comfort food. We highly recommend Snackbar for a date or celebration dinner.
