Opened in the summer of 1999, SOCIAL was received as the perfect blend of restaurant and bar. It was envisioned as a place where guests could enjoy an evening drink without feeling obligated to order dinner too, but where a sizzling menu meant that food was always an excellent option.

20 years later, SOCIAL continues to deliver. Known in the capital city for its ambiant and modern vibe, fifteen-foot ceilings, its secluded and beautiful courtyard patio, and gorgeous stone walls inside + out-- SOCIAL offers an unparalleled atmosphere for a sit-down dinner or some after-work cocktails. Guests can expect high-quality professional service and a menu to match, proving that SOCIAL is truly a downtown destination that has it all.

Come enjoy the culinary experience given by our Head Chef Peter Schulz and his team. Find us on Wednesdays 6 to 9 for Live Music, and Sundays 5-8!

We have dining rooms that are a perfect choice for small weddings, rehearsal dinners, client appreciation dinners, pharmaceutical presentations, special family occasions, networking events and more. These bookings are currently unavailable due to COVID regulations in place.

Live music can be heard every Wednesday night in the summer on the Courtyard - a mix of jazz, acid jazz and blues. An assortment of DJs are spinning on Friday and Saturday nights all year round.

New Years… lovely spot offering really great live jazz with Jeff Rogers. He was fantastic but ended early… really took away from our evening as the music was fantastic. The menu was nice… two of four courses ( pre main and dessert) were fantastic and others ( app and main) ok. Still love this restaurant…

We have been going to Social for new years eve 2 of the last 3 years. It is one of our go to's. We eat out a few times a week. The food was good, but unfortunately our server was overwelmed and we were without anything to drink when our services arrived. We were never offered the wine pairings on the menu as well. The evening was ok, but the service left us a bit disappointed.

Dining at the Social was a delicious, warm, comfortable evening out. The informative, responsive service, spacious table placements and comfortable music created an intimate ambience. The flavour of the food was as artistically created as its presentation. We made a great choice!

finally, a restaurant with gentle milieu, excellent food and a background of music allowing for good conversation. Its our fave!

Food portions were quite big. I loved the charcuterie board and it was well priced. Would definitely come back :)

It was very nice! The quantity of the food even made me upset…cause it wasn’t usual to get that much food for that price in Ottawa. The service was really good and sensitive to us🥰.
