Solé Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in a 150 year old Seagram’s building, minutes west of the Waterloo Uptown Core. The interior soars two stories high to a timber frame ceiling, exposed brick and generous wood finishes, set the tone for an elegant yet casual experience.

The menu will transport your palate to a bistro somewhere in Europe. Items ranging from fresh-baked pizzas, pastas, vegetarian entrées, steaks, and seafood will satisfy any appetite. An extensive award winning wine list, great selection of Scotch, local and imported beers on tap complement the experience. Service is professional yet friendly. Solé is waiting to take you away and deliver a complete dining experience.

Food is very good at sole. The noise level is way too much. Without any soft scaping to absorb noise, people have to raise their voices to have a conversation. Not enjoyable and for business purposes, it doesn’t work. Also the choice of music seems to feel like it’s chosen to hurry diners through their meals. Found the same thing at other charcoal group restaurants, it’s too bad because we love the food.

January tends to be the toughest month of the year for the hospitality industry and keeping a restaurant humming on near December levels requires outstanding value for money spent. Sole is one of the few restaurants in the KW Region that year over year manages to pull off this small miracle, by offering such amazing levels of food, drinks, service and ambience that it appears to bring back guests all year round. Our evening last night at Sole again confirmed their ability to meet high expectations. A discussion about seating arrangements was quickly and smoothly resolved by Jason, Sole's general manager, ( doing something which I know was probably not that easy as he said it was ) and once we were comfortably seated, Anna presented the offerings of the day with a great smile and long year competence. Our appetizer choices were the never disappointing scallops and the soup of the day, a home made red pepper soup, followed as main course by baked salmon and Tuna nicoise. Liking red wine regardless of food choice we chose the Californian Pinot Noir, which matched the subtle flavour of the dishes. Pellegrino offering the alternative beverage option. No meal being complete without dessert, we both had creme brulee and a late day capuccino. Conclusion: Sole is a great place, if you have reasonably high expectations and want to see them met every time!

We came on a Monday night for a team dinner. Service was exceptional and food amazing as usual - it never misses. Loving the refreshed interior and booths. One of our favourite local places, which is why we always bring our out of town guests here! Kudos to the friendly and attentive staff who make this gem such an inviting space.

Always an amazing dinning experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the ambiance is perfect. The food is incredible, we always make it our stop for brunch and this was our first time trying the dinner menu and it did not disappoint the Short Ribs were so tender! They even gave our son a Happy Birthday dessert which capped off the experience! 10 out of 10 would recommend this restaurant!
