    We sat at a back booth and the food and service were amazing. Hilary, our server, was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Sotto is always such a great experience.

    We absolutely love Sotto!  The goat cheese and hazelnut honey bread, the octopus, and the chicken liver mousse are our favorite appetizers! Even if you think you won’t like the octopus or liver mousse, I encourage you to be adventurous and try them- they are fantastic dishes! We love the cappellacci- my husband always wants his own order because he loves it so much and doesn’t want to share. This time we shared the porterhouse steak and it was fabulous. We want to come back and try the lamb next time! Other pastas we have loved include tajarin con tartufo and the tagliatelle con porcini. ALWAYS save room for the ricotta donuts!

    Table was 30 minutes behind and table sat ready for awhile…had to go back and nah to see if table was ready to be seated.

    The experience at Sotto is amazing. The service coordination. The primary server. Everything was top notch. There is a lot of good Italian food of many different styles in Cincinnati. Sotto has to be considered one of the top. Nothing on the menu is an "afterthought". Everything is well executed. There were three of us and we decided to eat family style. I recommend this as you are able to taste so much more than you would ordering your own. We had a salad and two bread dishes to start. The chicken liver mousse both creamy and crunchy while being sinfully savory. We had two pastas and my favorite is the "worth-it" pricey tanjarin with melt in your mouth black truffles. It is so earthy and rich, but not overly so. The special of the evening was roasted whole chicken thighs. While I would have preferred the skin a bit crispier, the flavorful thigh meat along with roasted potatoes and artichokes more than made up for it. Dessert was also shared - ricotta doughnuts, cherry sorbet, and panna cotta. We had a hard time choosing our favorite. The doughnuts are always a hit - these are beignet-like but a bit more moist in the center, no doubt from the ricotta. The dipping sauces of caramel, pistachio, and chocolate completed the dish. My personal favorite was the panna cotta with a cherry compote topping today. I would be remiss not to mention the beverages. I went from local hefeweizen-style beer to an Italian white blend and finished my meal from their selection of "limited offerings". I was happy to be able to try the Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year. This was a special treat for my birthday. My wife and teenager partook of the mocktails. I tried these too and they were excellent - inventive and tasty.

    Best restaurant for any special occasion. The service is always immaculate, the food is delicious and consistent, and the ambiance is perfect for an intimate dinner or celebration. Everything we ordered was divine! Will be back over and over again
