Was surprised to be seated in the oyster bar area vs. the normal dining area options, especially considering we had reservations, didn't request to be secluded away from the normal ambiance provided at this restaurant, and the restaurant was less than capacity during the evening. A glitch scenario considering it was a holiday and more patrons were expected?

Wonderful experience! The fish was fantastic. Our server gave great recommendations and anticipated timing everything so we could get to our concert afterwards. The ambiance is super cool with the under the sea theme. Will definitely be dining here again!

Service staff were attentative to our needs and interests. They also helped each other to ensure we had a good experience. The appetizers and meal were tremendous -- flavor, presentation, temperature, and savory.

We had an early reservation at 5PM prior to a Civic Center performance. I will say up front our server, Emily was great. She was very knowledgeable about the food prep and made excellent suggestions. The food was absolutely 5 stars. The preparation and presentation were top notch. I had Sea Bass pan seared, and asparagus, with a side of Lobster Mac & Cheese. My wife had Norwegian Salmon Char Grilled with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans. Everything was perfect. The wine list was very good with nice choices. The Pino Grigio was perfect with the Sea Bass. Emily's recommendation for the other drinks was a perfect match. All that said, why only 4 Star review? We have been to this fine restaurant multiple times over many years. It appears nothing has been done to update the facility. After 20+ years the red leather chairs are worn and scarred. Two of our chairs were loose enough to seriously be a potential cause of injury when they eventually break.

Beautiful location to watch show at Civic Center. My wife had the Sake shrimp and I had the pan-seared sturgeon special. All was cooked perfectly and plated beautifully. It's a little pricey, especially for Iowa, but the food is on par with the best restaurants anywhere.

We've had really good experiences at Splash but last night was disappointing. I got the chefs special $70pp which seemed high but wanted to try the dover sole fish. The starter was scallops which sounded good and they were ok but the very tiny ones. The entree actually tasted exactly like the starter so that was disappointing as well. We also waited almost 15 min to get out drink order.

Just wonderful!!! Service was excellent and food was top notch. It really was a great dining experience. Our first time there but hopefully not our last.
