Opened in June 1922, The Tam O'Shanter boasts a rich, storied history and warm, inviting atmosphere. We’re proud to be in our 10th decade of continuous service. We originally considered it a quiet pastoral road stop, since Los Feliz Boulevard was just an unpaved country lane traversed by rabbits and rabbit hunters, in that order.
Everything changed when Walt Disney and his animators, set designers, and crews began trekking out between takes for a bite and a refreshment. So often, in fact, that the Tam was once dubbed “The Studio Commissary.”
Join us and see why the Tam is said to have been Walt’s favorite restaurant!

As a family-run establishment, we’re committed to keeping our community safe. We always practice strong hygiene protocols and rigorously adhere to all CDC food safety standards.

Our order was incorrect in reference to how we each wanted our meat cooked. Waitress forgot our bread , then when she did bring our bread the bread was not fully baked. Not the same Tam’s that we came to over 10 ago. Celebrating a milestone 70th Very disappointed

The Annual Dickens’s Christmas Carol Celebration! We look forward to this event every year and it did not disappoint. The troupe of players performed the iconic play while we were being served a delicious luncheon of prime rib, goose or salmon, all were delicious. Selected diners were asked to participate as dancers or cast. My son-in-law (6’ 1” ) was a delightful Tiny Tim. This officially starts our Holiday Season.

The filet I had was incredible...the fish and chips my husband had were soggy, one of the prime rib plates was served way too rare when medium rare was ordered but all in all most (party of 8) enjoyed their dinner. The appetizers were very good..Scotch rarebit, brisket burnt ends and poutine were all very good. We had to pour our own wine as our waitress was too busy. I understand they were busy but a restaurant should not spread their servers too thin. Desserts were very good also...chocolate souffle, sticky pudding, and trifle.

It was my birthday dinner and I was thrilled when we got seated at Walt's famous table. Service was wonderful and the food was delicious and memorable. The restaurant was beautiful by itself, but we were fortunate enough to come when it was decorated for the holidays, which added to the overall experience. I had only heard that Tam O' Shanter was great, but now I know that to be true and am definitely looking forward to going again!

This is a very unusual restaurant, the same ambiance. It had for a century. The prime rib, as usual, is the best in town

Love the decoration and environment. It sure reminds me of pub in the UK. Salad was tasty & cold. Prime rib was very tender. Yorkshire pudding was still more doughy than normal. But good food overall. Will always come back.

Beautifully decorated for the holidays that made for a festive atmosphere. Very nice , helpful staff but did find the receptionist a bit stiff. Excellent meals. Loved the Scottish Rarebit, French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had, and of course, great prime rib. Most restaurants don’t serve complementary bread anymore, but they did and kept it coming if we wanted. The cream spinach is also something that was outstanding that came with the meal. They also have a great variety of cocktails. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Full disclosure, I am a Tam O Shanter’s “regular”. The reasons behind this are simple…consistent quality, delicious food, and a superior staff including the fantastic waiters, waitresses & bartenders, excellent cooking staff, and the always accommodating and friendly hostesses. Today’s experience included a party of 11, a few last minute cancellations, and a few late shows, including myself…. In true Tam fashion, all of these setbacks were taken in stride and our first of many closing year lunch events was handled beautifully!! This is and will continue to be my favorite Los Angeles restaurant, especially when hosting a special guest or event. Thank you again Tam O Shanter
