Great restaurant. Ambiance was classy. Had a couple issues that they responded to very quickly and I appreciated their solutions. Server and staff were extremely attentive. Their food was delicious. Flavorful, not greasy. Cannot go wrong.

I have been to Tamarind well over a 100 times in the past 15+ years including virtually every weekend during the pandemic when they had outdoor seating. The last visit was disappointing at several levels. We wanted to order appetizers and wait before ordering the main course. The waiter claimed their "system does not allow that"!! We reached at 6pm but by 7:30 the restaurant was packed which explained that nonsensical answer. They wanted us to eat and leave in order to turn the table for the next guests. The other complaint was that we were seated at the upper level, difficult to get to for older folks (one of us is over 80) and the ceiling is low there resulting in unacceptable loud noise levels due to loud talking by guests.

All apps fab, scallops, shrimp, superb. But rack of lamb way way overcooked.

The most delicious Indian food ever! Service was impeccable and the restaurant itself is beautiful! We come here every time we are in New York!

Our waiter, Vinay, was extremely kind, helpful, and gave us the very best service! Our food was amazing and we will recommend Tamarind to friends who visit NYC.

From the welcome we received on arrival to leaving the restaurant after a wonderful meal this was a fantastic culinary experience. The entire staff were so friendly seating my wife and I in a quieter area near the bar. The waiting staff had an excellent knowledge of the menu and recommended dishes for us. The dishes were absolutely wonderful with the lamb chops being the highlight. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will go back again the next time I am in New York.

Service was excellent and very personal. They really took care of our table at all times even changing us to a more preferred area which was nice and quiet. Nice choice of wines as well. Very delicious vegetarian options. Solid pick in NY.

Our FAVORITE restaurant for over a decade! Incredible food! Customer service is like NO OTHER!!!! Open kitchen for the Tandori is impressive! Amazing ambiance!
