   We had a good dinner and there was something for everyone at the table. When one of the recommended dishes was not as expected they corrected it without asking. We will come back again.

   We arrived early but our table was already ready! Service was immediate and attentive throughout our meal. All 6 in our party were pleased with the quality of the food.

   The service was good and the staff was friendly. The food was just so-so. My sweet potato fries were cold but the burger was very hot. Nothing great that would make me want to return.

   We went to Tavern before moving into UMD. We’ve been there a few times before and had nothing but great experiences. This time, not so much. Our server was not attentive. We waited a long time to have drinks refilled and orders taken. When it came time for the bill we asked for it to be split and she didn’t do that. Then we have her cash and asked her to take that off the top before charging card. She came back with no cash taken off and the whole amount on CC. Good thing my husband looked. Or she would have gotten an extremely big tip. We also have to say our food was not as good as we have experienced before. Perhaps it was an off day. Disappointed. And our guests were not impressed for their first visit.

   Nachos were wet and soggy. Prime rib sandwich was fatty and was tasteless, there was no flavor to it at all. Total waste of $40.

   Overall pretty good. The restaurant was out of the ramen noodle dish, my daughter wanted it. She instead ordered chicken strips off the kids meal (she is in age requirements) the waitress did a chicken strip platter, instead which was considerably more. We were told we would be charged for a kids meal by a lead and to enjoy the platter. The adjustment didn't reflect on the bill. She also brought out adult glass cups for the kids meals, ok for the older child, not for a 5 year old. Food was excellent quality. Another annoying thing is the waitress kept bending across the table to refill glasses, exposing breast cleavage out her shirt into my husband's face.

    3 couples visited the Duluth area for a couple of days and made a reservation at Tavern on the Hill. We were delighted at the excellent cocktails, the menu variety, and the service and attentiveness. The food we ordered was prepared to our liking and nothing remained to take home. All in all, I think we will go back the next time we are in Duluth.
