like a 1950's Italian restaurant. Food OK, eatable but nothing special. Service was very poor and slow. will not return or recommend

Mixed review, as our food was great, the bus persons service was great and it has a nice ambiance. The bartender/server not so much. We went long periods without seeing him for refills on our drinks or placing our order.We did unfortunately have to share our meal w unforgiving fruit flies everywhere. We were able to change tables but encountered them there as well. Management was notified and they said it was due to the windows being left open for too long. My knowledge from Working in the food industry knows most cases of fruit flies come from unsanitary conditions somewhere in the restaurant. Mostly have seen them around drink stations. I would like to revisit this restaurant once that has been resolved. I would’ve given them a score of 8 out 10 but swatting fruit flies and the inattentive service brings me to a 6.5 on the whole.

Always a go to restaurant for delicious food and outstanding service. Really liked the eggplant Parmesan.

The food at Tavolino was excellent which was unfortunate because the service from our waiter Alan was way below a very good restaurants level. Alan was not very attentive from the time he came to take our drinks order. We hadn't realized the beer offering was mainly Italian beers and none of the usual you find at most restaurants. Our fault! After he gave us the rundown of the beers available, he didn't mention the breakdown was actually on the back of the menu and walked off to get our parties other drinks in frustration when I couldn't make a quick decision. At any other upscale restaurant when you disclose the dinner is to celebrate your 61st Anniversary, they at least acknowledge it when you sit down at your table or at another time early in the evening. Alan gave us a "oh yeah, happy anniversary" when he brought us the bill at the end of the evening. Oh well, the food was good, but the service will keep us from returning any time soon.

This is typically one of our favorite places, but last night was an interesting exception. There was a pungent and foul aroma immediately upon entering the restaurant (grease trap or sewer backup?) it was bad... contemplated leaving before being seated and probably should have.. Pizza was a bit under, bruschetta was thin and a bit burnt, but they were out of the wine we wanted and gave us a no cost upgrade, so..winning? We'll be back, but if they don't resolve the smell, we won't stay for the meal.

Tavolino has been one of our favorites for many years. We have recommended it to many friends and entertained guests there. Today it was very disappointing. The penne ai funghi was below average and the service was poor. The salad was very good. Our guest tasted and selected a wine but the waiter served her a different wine. We won’t be back anytime soon.
