Thai Square has been a staple on the Strand since 1996. It was the very first Thai restaurant to open its doors, so it has an extra special place in our hearts.

Conveniently located on the Strand, a major thoroughfare in Central London, our restaurant offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This Strand restaurant was entirely refurbished in May 2018, with new features including living botanical walls and a breathtaking floral tree. Enjoy our romantic interiors and an award-winning, pre-theatre dinner before heading to a show at Somerset House or the Vaudeville and Adelphi theatres.

We liked the food overall but the salt pepper tofu was a disaster, very bad, re re re fried tofu, very dry and no taste at all

The food was excellent and great value. Best pad thai I’ve had anywhere. Waiters were really friendly. It was very quiet though so not much atmosphere. We did eat quite early though so I’m sure it would have filled up.

Absolutely Horrendous Food, Every Dish was Luke Warm arrived way too fast to be actually freshly cooked no dish was piping hot, the food served to us was pre-prepared warmed up and was disgusting. A breakdown follows Corn cakes were overcooked and dry very oily, no flavours, Vegetable Tofu Satay was inedible the carrots were like rubber and the taste was like damp socks, Salt & pepper tofu was dried out and tough, really impossible to eat Chicken satay was bland, tough reheated The spicy aubergine was cold Pad thai was a plate full of cold pre-heated noodles and a handful of cold prawns on the dish each side these had been also pre cooked and were totally void of any flavours and would you believe a wedge of lemon that's Taboo in Thai Cooking I asked for limes, but they had none!! (no limes in a Thai Restaurant says it all) shredded carrot no broccoli no taste of tamarind a few green shoots of spring onions and crushed peanuts nothing authentic about it was totally tasteless and awful Garlic jumbo prawns were a good size but reheated and impossible to pull out of the shell again no flavours existed Mixed vegetables tasted OK, but because they were Luke warm we left them Jasmine rice was Cold and stuck together really shocking standards, no Thai authenticity in any dish never will we go back Terrible experience we pre-ordered a larger table had to ask twice for that to be done there was plenty of free larger seating They only sell one type of beer there is more than one Thai beer But no choices and the final straw was two chocolate puddings we had hoped to be able to eat were just store bought or bulk purchased the Ice creams served was as bland as the whole meal, not worth any of the prices charged, how anyone can rate this as good food leaves us dumbfounded.

The wines were terrible and the waiter was unhelpful. Food was tasteless in part overall I will not go again
