This review is not from Eryll, as you show on your initial page, but my (Joan Hamilton-Smith) own personal view as we were lunching together.
I was initially taken aback when we arrived to be told: "Follow me, let's stick you over here". Not an acceptable greeting when first arriving at a restaurant. I object to being 'stuck' anywhere, especially in that context as it sounded rude and the person whose comment it was would rather have been employed doing something more interesting, rather than guiding guests to their table.
Once we arrived at the allocated table, it was very difficult to sit down due to the bench being much too close to the table and, had the table been moved, would then have trapped my friend in the same predicament. Also bulky cushions made sitting uncomfortable so had to be moved out of the way.
We both had scampi, which was nice. I had the crumble and custard for dessert and found the plate with the crumble was red hot, but nobody mentioned that, so fingers could have been badly burned. Luckily I have relatively good reactions so no damage done. However, the hot custard was in a small jug which didn't have a handle, so it was impossible to pick up and pour over the crumble, even trying to utilise the napkin proved too tricky.
A large dog was constantly coming up and sitting by the table, waiting for scraps but, fortunately, made no attempt to jump up. I am fond of dogs but, should I have had an aversion to them, would not have been happy with its hanging around most of the time whilst I was trying to enjoy my meal and talk to my friend.
