Make it a day to remember. From birthdays and anniversaries to professional milestones, we aim to make every gathering special at The Capital Grille. Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant's on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille's wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 - 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required.     We decided to try Capital Grille for the first time for our anniversary. We were seated pretty quickly in a corner booth and great ambience. Darryl was an outstanding! He was very an attentive server and gave great drink and food recommendations. Being vegetarian, it’s always nice to be accommodated and not order just sides. He had the chef whip up a tofu medley and my husband’s steak was exceptional. Maybe 10 minutes into our dining experience, the air changed drastically. It was off and on, hot and then cold for the remainder of the evening. I had to continually put my coat on and then take it back off. I asked my husband if it was just me but he felt the same way. After sneezing and clearing my throat uncontrollably, it got so uncomfortable that I couldn’t finish my drink or meal. I hated that because the experience would have been phenomenal. I mentioned it several times to Darryl but not sure it was much he could do. I suggest they take a look at their air control. I would love to return, maybe when the weather is a bit warmer.

    Memphis is a small city with not a lot of high-end restaurants. This is one of the few. My rating of 4 stars is due to a lack of awareness on the part of the staff. When spending money, everything on a plate/platter at that guests' table belongs to the guest. Unless THEY (the guest) say otherwise. This includes anything to-go. I ordered a pricey appetizer and wanted the rest to go, and a portion was thrown away. I thought I was clear in saying ALL, but staff assumed I didn't want them (lobster heads). We did talk about it, consolation given, and checking with the guest will be a best practice going forward.

    Each time that we visit it’s just amazing how much you get taken care of by the staff. Everyone is so nice and willing to give suggestions if needed. Cannot wait to return.
