IN THE BEAUTIFUL GEORGIAN CITY OF BATH, Chequers has been the central meeting point for the community on River Street, Royal Crescent and Circus for countless years.
We hope to continue that tradition offering a friendly bar stool for a chat or a cosy corner for lunch or dinner with friends. Traditional ales, a vibrant wine list and chic cocktails all complement a stunning menu of classic British cuisine.

                                        Staff are lovely. Service is quick. I came here in Sept 2024 with a friend and it was ok/ good. Came back in Dec 2024 with my partner. The food was pretty unpleasant. Fortunately we were starving so we largely ate it but we both felt quite unwell after. The chef puts a hell of a lot of salt on the food. Rich pork cheeks on creamy Welsh rarebit combines two dishes and was overly rich. The pasta tasted as if it were cooked in cream and covered in too much Parmesan and salt. Just too sickly. Too much going on. Less is more! Let the ingredients speak for themselves. Good ingredients with as little done to them as possible would work much better. The River Cafe knows how to keep it simple. That’s the secret of good cuisine. Glad we have been to Chequers but I think we won’t go again.

                                        I booked a table for me and my wife from the moment we stepped in the staff couldn't have been more friendlier excellent service from beginning to the time we finnished. There sunday roast is probably one of the best i have tried throughly recomend it as for there desert there sticky pudding is without doubt amazing if you have a sweet tooth
