The Indoor Brasserie of The Churchill Hotel serves modern brasserie food overlooking the manicured lawns of the hotel, The restaurant is elegantly modern, its interior design utterly contemporary but without ignoring the splendid proportions and original features of the room – high arched windows, original wooden flooring and delicate coving just some of the Georgian features.
Begin your visit with a relaxed tipple in the airy atrium, or cosy bar before taking a seat in the brighter, more spacey dining room. Here you’ll enjoy food with a fresh, seasonal flavour. Imaginative and but with a nod to traditionalism, The restaurant’s cuisine is skillfully and carefully prepared for you by the kitchen’s talented and well trained chefs.
Please note you are booking for the Brasserie and not the outdoor beer garden.

    The Churchill was lovely and close to where we were staying. The restaurant was popular with couples. I wished I had chosen the minute steak opposed to the brisket wellington. The brisket wasn’t to my liking I’d have paid for a proper fillet of beef in the wellington . The chef is obviously talented and the pastry and mash were lovely. The carrots were too long and perhaps less kale would be better or a different vegetable accompaniment. All in all we had great service and an enjoyable time.

    We had a wonderful experience dining in at the Churchill Hotel. The food was delicious. We have also ordered the pizza twice for Takeaway. It’s the best pizza I’ve had in York.

    I didn’t have a great experience here last week & was so disappointed. Firstly to be greeted with a man that said are you the voucher people is a bit unprofessional. Yes we had a voucher that we purchased ourselves for someone else but due to it been difficult to sort online we decided to use it ourselves. We felt as though we were looked down upon as we were using a voucher & it was mentioned on quite a few occasions, I’m sure not everyone in the restaurant needed to know we were using a voucher and that we was or wasn’t entitled too with said voucher. I found it all a bit strange, the voucher has still been purchased with actual money! .. not Monopoly money! We should have been able to have whatever we want to that monetary value. We would have also happily paid more. The starter was lovely really really enjoyed the onion soup, I’m quite a goody & dine in a lot of nice restaurants and I must say this was one of the best onion soups I’ve had. Main was chicken & extremely overcooked, the chips were burnt I didn’t touch them. Desert was lovely too we had brownie and was very nice. Such a shame that the service was poor to say the least & I would suggest the Man that was serving us go on some sort of course, you expect it in McDonalds but certainly not a restaurant. I’ve thought long and hard about writing this review.

    We always have a lovely experience at Churchills brasserie and have been dining there a few years now . The service was excellent along with the food . We had the three course set menu and three of us found the food good value and tasty .

    If travelling by car parking is a consideration when visiting York.Parking is expensive just out of town and some restaurants and venue charge fairly expensive parking rates.Churchill charge £18 for residents and if just dining you have to find parking elsewhere
