The Colosseum Restaurant is an award-winning Italian restaurant offering elegant surroundings and exquisite Southern Italian cuisine. Opened in 1987 by Chef Annibale Todesca, the Colosseum has become an established favorite for diners in Salem, NH and the Merrimack Valley. Chef Annibale Todesca serves the same authentic Southern Italian cooking that he enjoyed growing up in Italy. Like many generations of Todescas, he ventures to the market every day to ensure that he cooks with only the freshest vegetables, seafood and highest quality meats. Please stop by for lunch or dinner. It will be our pleasure to serve you.

Food was cold and they didn’t have enough wait staff to have every table full. Probably just the holidays and people calling out. Been here multiple times and it’s been decent before.

Made reservations night before for 7pm… called cause running early but told they can’t bump us up because they stick to their reservation schedule… so we arrive at 650 and told we would be seated shortly … fit the next 45 - 50 mins we watched table after table be seated ahead of us even hearing some we’re 730 reservations … even after mentioning again we were a couple for 7pm. Finally after being seated a lady who appeared to be the manager approached us … I was ready to be good w it all by them acknowledging what had happened surely this was it … nope just letting us know that they have specials … the young staff working were both friendly and tremendously courteous … food was good not great. This wasn’t our first time and food can be amazing to be fair.

Worst birthday ever!! Went to the Colosseum had veal saltomboca ,found it to be to cakie and dry for my taste. Maybe less breading or more sauce? I said that it was my birthday on the app and in front of waitress. Ordered the pistachio cake for dessert which they did not have that night for some reason. Picked a second dessert, which was just OK. Waitress was nice enough but seemed be hiding at the bar a lot. Waitress never acknowledged the special event. Do yourself a favor,go to Amalfi or Bueno bistro.

The food is outstanding. The best Italian food in NH outside of Italy. The portions are family size and easy to share. The service is top notch, very attentive and courteous. The restaurant is accessible for people with disabilities or those who use a wheelchair and the staff is very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
