The House of William and Merry serves contemporary American cuisine prepared from the freshest seasonal ingredients procured from local farms, providing casual fine dining at a reasonable price. Chef-owned by the husband and wife team, Merry Catanuto and William Hoffman, who live on the property, the restaurant is a remodeled farmhouse on the edge of central Hockessin. Dine in a comfortable home atmosphere in one of the two dining rooms, the porch, or the bar. When you arrive, you can see right into the all new, modern kitchen. Full bar service is available including wines by the glass, microbrews on tap, and specialty drinks. Or, take a walk around back to see the herb and vegetable gardens.

Tuesday through Saturday we serve lunch and dinner. On Sunday, we serve brunch followed by a prix fix supper in the evening.

    Lovely dinner! We had pork belly and salad to start with. Duck and swordfish for mains. Food was displayed beautifully and cooked to perfection. Service was nicely timed. We will visit again.

    We celebrated our anniversary at The House of W&M and had a memorable experience! The atmosphere as soon as you walk in the restaurant is very welcoming. The bar specialty drinks (Perfect Pear Martini👍) was a great start to an awesome dinner! One of the night’s specialty entree’s was Venison and the flavor was the best. I encourage to choose from the starter, entree, and dessert as you won’t be disappointed. Lastly, everyone on the staff was friendly and professional which completed the experience!

    You cannot go wrong with W&M. It is my favorite restaurant to go to. Everything is always made to perfection, delicious and a work of art. I am always excited to see what their menu has on it.

    Watching them in the kitchen prepare the meals was an experience on its own. The food was cooked and prepared perfectly. Cocktails were spot on as well. We will be back!

    The food, wine & service were perfect! I love the menu, especially with entries including lots of sides/veggies. We shared the foie gras which was a perfect combination of savory & sweet. I had the 'deckle' and my brother the duck, both had ingredients we had never had before and were well paired. Also loved the 'house' Mount Veeder a perfect complement to the meal. The service was very professional and at the same time friendly and relaxed. This restaurant has been on my list for a long time and did not disappoint! Will definitely be back.
