Located in historic downtown Tacoma, The Melting Pot provides a unique, interactive dining experience in a casually elegant, intimate atmosphere. Stop into our gourmet fondue restaurant after a concert at The Tacoma Dome, a visit to The Tacoma Art Museum to see the Dale Chihuly Museum of Glass, or a family outing at the Point Defiance Zoo. Choose from 1, 2, 3, or more courses, including savory cheeses prepared tableside, fresh salads with house-made dressings, tempting meats and seafood, and of course, creamy chocolate fondue served with an array of delicious dippers. Complement your selections with a specialty cocktail, craft beer, or glass of wine from our extensive wine list.     Absolutely wonderful! We come for my birthday (or around) every year and it is a consistently fabulous experience! The menu has changed back and forth a bit, but we always find either new styles to try or old favorites. The staff are always top notch and the ambiance is unlike any other. They really make your celebration special! I also like it that the experience is slow paced so you can savor the experience. Don't go with someone you don't like talking to! We'll be back next year or before.

    We were a party of 9. Hostess placed us in a back room that we had all to ourselves. Our waitress was very attentive and explained how things work in this unique way of dining. Food choice is excellent, and sauces are very good.

    Party of 4 and everyone had to order the same thing. The meat is boiled! Who boils meat! Not tasty at all

    I purchased multiple add on packages for my daughters birthday , none of which were ready at the table when we arrived. For $90 dollars everything should be ready to go upon arrival. I mentioned this to our server Mandi (who was wonderful) this was then corrected. But for $90 dollars i should not have had to ask or remind anyone. The table should have been decorated and ready to go.

    I think for parties of 4 there should always be two burners. Not sure why we were sat in a table that only had one. Basically one couple had to eat at a time, and agree on selections despite wanting different things.

    Overall the experience was excellent. The ambience was much better than in previous visits. It was very quiet. The cost is right at my upper limit but for a couple dinners per year on special occasions it’s our go to.

    Food didn’t settle with me or with my wife. The cooking times for the various meats is somewhat confusing. Sadly, the dessert part was the only thing we really enjoyed. Seems fairly expensive for what you get, which is some chopped up bread and various things dip and cheese and chocolate. Our server was excellent.

    I can’t exactly pinpoint when the Tacoma Melt Pot started to go downhill. It’s been a gradual decline over the past few years. This used to be our favorite date night. A few years ago we probably dined at MP twice a month. The food was good, nice service and fun atmosphere. This place used to be hopping. It’s a ghost town now. Our date night at MP was so bad that we weren’t mad. My wife and I started laughing at comedy. The salad was wilted, our waitress had zero idea how to make the cheese. She dumped in enough liquid base for a table of 6 but only added cheese for two. It was cheese milk. It was so bad we just laughed. Service was awful. She could not get anything right. I felt bad for her until I saw her flirting it up in kitchen. She did care about us. She just wanted some attention and chat all night. It’s just a bizarre, empty place now.
