The Mermaid Oyster Bar is a warm, friendly, casually sophisticated neighborhood meeting place for dining, drinking and socializing. We serve seafood inspired from the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. All our food is extremely fresh. “From the sea to the table” is how we like to put it.

Happy hour daily from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. $1.50 oysters & clams, drink specials and Mermaid favorites like our fish tacos, shrimp sliders and more.

We are regular patrons. We were totally shocked that Jason is no longer there. There was a very great relationship with the staff that was visible and relayed a positive work environment. Very disappointed with this action from upper management. The staff seemed harried albeit congenial. Malcolm, whom we had met before, is great. But the way Jason was dismissed is a true mystery and leaves an unsavory taste.

I’m heartbroken! This was one of our regular neighborhood spots. Last night we found out the that menu was completely changed but most importantly, our two favorite items are gone! Whole branzino and sautéed calamari salad. I must say that anyone whom I ever brought to this place and tried both, admitted those were one of the best food experiences. The way they made branzino was incredible and the calamari salad - you just couldn’t find it anywhere else. I can never understand why would a restaurant remove top products. Bye bye mermaid Inn, we will miss what you used to be. 😢

Love this place. Probably our fourth or fifth visit overall. Food is always fresh. We got the grand seafood tower and Parker rolls this time and they did not disappoint. Perfect little feast that did not weigh us down before our concert a few blocks away. The crab hand rolls are so creamy and delicious. The rolls were beautifully made, soft and crunchy. So good. A definite go to date night spot with my new husband.

Glad to find a Mermaid that still serves their chocolate pudding cups. I miss the one that used to be in my neighborhood on Amsterdam Avenue. Very cozy atmosphere and great oysters. Pleasant and attentive service too.

I really enjoyed my time. We had to ask the server multiple times for multiple things but besides that; the food was delicious. You all have the best bread I’ve ever had. Hands down!

We arrived on time for our reservation. But they had issues with their computer. The hostess told me she just needed a few minutes. There were three tables open. She went into the back of house, After 10 minutes or so I grabbed one of the waiters and explained we had tickets to a show. We finally got seated 20 after our reservation . The service and food were great. But in the end we had to leave before finishing our meal and were late to our show

The food was amazing, and the service was superb. We didn’t feel rushed, the place is a nice size so it wasn’t cramped. The lobster roll was very good!! Also, the pink flamingo cocktail was delicious!

I went here to celebrate my birthday along with another friend's with our friends. The restaurant is bigger inside than most restaurants and their menu was full of seafood - what the two birthday girls wanted. We were reserved a corner table and a handwritten card was there wishing us both a happy birthday and for celebrating there. The service was great - the waitress was attentive and helpful. She did make a mistake on the other birthday girl's meal (mayo lobster roll vs. the butter that she wanted) but she received a side of butter and we moved on. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers - east and west coast oysters, tartare, and lobster knuckles. I think everyone enjoyed their meal - I know I loved my "nearly famous" lobster roll. Then they surprised us with complimentary chocolate mouse (2 with candles) and champagnes all around. They didn't rush us and let us enjoy our time together. I am very happy we chose this place for our birthday celebrations. Would recommend and go back.
