Renowned for speciality cuts, signature dishes, and fresh seafood, The Mitre welcomed back original Head Chef Pat Lynch following an extensive refurb and reopening in October 2023. His food is exceptional, honest and British, with the global influences Pat has gathered throughout his career littered throughout his menu.

One of the headline dishes is the Mitre original braised rabbit pappardelle, but not to be missed are Pat’s specially selected cuts of Scottish beef - from none other than renowned butcher John Gilmour - which he expertly grills on his Japanese-style Robata.

The brand-new menus will be devised of a sensational food selection including unmissable Sunday Roasts and contemporary seafood dishes. The food in the restaurant will be timeless, whilst the brand-new bar is the perfect spot for an exceptional pint and a light bite to eat.

    Unfortunately the food wasn’t great at all. The burger was burnt and the fried chicken was impossible to chew. The service showed great understanding, I give them that, but that doesn’t change the fact that we didn’t have a great night.

    I took two friends for dinner at the Mitre on Thursday. I was surprised how good the food was. Everything was lovely and hot and our waitress was really sweet. A lovely atmosphere as well

    Good food but can be noisy on Sundays when families arrive. Would recommend the Sunday roasts as plentiful and tasty. Will be back!

    I'm sad to say that this establishment has gone downhill. Slow service, cold food, chewy meat, unhelpful staff and expensive. Busy for a Sunday lunch, but there are much nicer pubs and nothing hill at this price point. The atmosphere is that of a hotel lobby as well, which doesn't help matters.

    Very kind members of staff , helpful and willing to make this moment pleasant . Now as regards the food … honestly : starter (rare bits) : a slice of «  bread » rather soggy but hard to cut , its topping was something like heated béchamel with not much taste « despite «  Tje rather chewy melted cheese , the main course was great , the desert was really really hopeless … was it defrozen cheese cake ( stale) and the pineapple desert was merely sliced pineapple on crusty paste coated with honey , we didn’t complain because it was Xmas day and the staff were really kind but :certainly not worth more than 100 pounds each !! Come on …
