LONG rant based on crappy treatment & the “shakedown 4 $$” We arrived @ 5:15pm (5:30pm res w/ a booth request). It's Christmas Eve & it's absolutely packed. The Host sat us @ the bar, & said have a drink while we wait for a booth. Ok, sounds good - no problem. About 25 minutes later, The Host was talking w/ another man (co-manager maybe?), & The Host says to my husband "Tip him & you'll get your booth". My husband & I were a bit taken aback. Like, what? We were both born & raised here in Vegas. We know how the tipping game goes & plays out. But exactly why should i have to tip when I have a “Reservation”. Tip For an Upgraded table, absolutely! Busy restaurant & I roll in w/o a reservation, most definitely 100%. Tipping for a standard c reservation isn’t it.
Anyway - back to The Christmas Eve
Saga....
So the co-manager guy (heavy set, white shirt & suspenders) sits at the bar next to my husband & I slide him some money & say "So can you get us our booth"? He replies "I'll work on it". 20 minutes later The Host comes over & tells us "I'm sorry, I gave away your booth. My bad. But we're getting you the next one". Then Heavy-set white shirt guy comes over & says, pointing @ a booth "I've got this nice booth right here for you, just waiting for it to be cleared”. ….Great, awesome. We're hungry & ready to eat. 10 minutes later, heavy-set white shirt guy seats 4 other people at that booth. As he's walking past us w/The Host, he says “they paid 40 for that table".
Are you f*@king shit+ing me!? After the next group came in & got seated at a booth - we bounced. Asked the lovely bartender for our check, paid & as we were gathering our coats to leave- she said "Enjoy your dinner". I replied, "We’re not eating, we're leaving. We've been here an hour, with a reservation - tipped for a table & still nothing." She apologized profusely. I assured her; (con’t)
