We've dined at the Reserve many many times. It;s always been very good. On this day I was disappointed.
We started out with one order of scallops (about $20). Only 3 on the plate. An their shrimp cocktail was also ordered, about 6, for about the same price.
For the four of us, three had the Filet. It was good and was enjoyed. I ordered the prime rib. Although if was a generous portion, i was so surprised that it was a tough piece of meat. I used the steak knife to cut it and with that alone, I knew I had a bad piece of beef. I didn't complain or ask for a better piece. I don't do that. It was pretty expensive considering it as ala carte.
One of us ordered asparagus. It was not fully cooked, more like just blanched. None of us like crunchy asparagus. Two of us had shared a ceasar salad. It was okay. We don't drink so beverages were limited to diet Cokes and Ice Teas. Would have been nice to be offered refills. The restaurant wasn't real crowded so the server wasn't overwhelmed with being very busy.
No drinks, no dessert yet we received a bill with tip being over $400. Harrah's has really downgraded their menu and upgraded their prices.
On a side note, their VIP lounge is no longer a VIP lounge. It's no longer referred to as a VIP lounge, appropriately. Now it's the Laurel Lounge. Guess they don't want to mislead visitors. Their dinners include one plate of plated food, no refills on anything and maybe a small bow of soup. Deserts are only pieces of pound cake or soft serve ice cream. No sprinkles no chocolate or caramel sauces, no whipped cream. Plain ole soft service.
I think it's time to find a new steak house for birthday celebrations.
