I have dined here several times before and always had a wonderful experience; last night was a complete 180. I am a retired chef and appreciate a fine meal, which is what this establishment used to provide. Clearly, something drastic has changed. There were 6 in our party and we were celebrating my birthday. Two people ordered sodas and one ordered a beer. They were brought to the table in the cans and just placed on the table next to an empty glass that was brought with them. The server didn't pour the beverage into the glass. They just sat it down on the table and left. The food came and I was shocked. NOTHING was nicely plated. All of the dishes were just plopped on the plates; no garnish, no artistry, just a mess. I ordered the salmon with the crispy skin. When plating this type of item, it is supposed to be done with the crispy skin on top and the sauce underneath. Mine was crispy skin down with sauce over the top. The sauce was ok but nothing special. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The couscous that was with it was just a mess. I adore Kalamata olives but there were way too many in the couscous, which only increases the plate cost, and the spinach that was mixed in was undercooked. Two people in our group ordered the steak and shrimp. This dish was also an uninspired mess. There was a whole plat full of potatoes with a few veggies mixed in and the Skewers of steak and shrimp were just placed on top. The Skewers were so burnt that they were disintegrating - clearly, they had not been soaked in water prior to use, which helps minimize this problem. The steak was nicely marinated but two of the pieces were so tough that they were inedible. Another member of our parry ordered the prime rib special. She said it was OK and generous, but again, no garnish and the creamed horseradish tasted like they forgot the horseradish entirely. The server was pleasant but never asked if anyone wanted another beverage. None of it was worth the $$$.
