For 60 years The Rib Room has enjoyed its reputation for outstanding food and service. Patrons have found the massive windows facing Royal Street the perfect backdrop for Crescent City dining. The woody, Old English atmosphere, and high ceiling invite guests to sit back and stay awhile. The softly lit and equally comfortable Rib Room bar offers the ideal setting for sophisticated beverages and extensive wine cellar selections. Diners requiring privacy may choose from the Pipkin, Wine Cellar, or Roundtable rooms, perfect for small gatherings; each discreetly removed from the main dining floor. On the upper level of the Rib Room, we feature a private room for groups of up to 40 guests. Winner of the prestigious Zagat Award, The Rib Room offers classics such as slow-roasted prime rib of beef, aged steaks, and fresh Louisiana seafood.

Made reservations like 6 weeks in advance on Open Table originally for 11:45 RR called and asked if we could change our reservation to 11:00. We arrived at 11:00 and the Maitre D forgot about us, so I had to remind them of our reservation to be seated. The crab claws were ice cold? The trout almandine was dry and NO SAUCE. We were never offered dessert or coffee?? What has happened to the Rib Room?

Not really impressed at all, reading all the reviews lately and have to agreed with the other guests. First you’re advertising about revelion menu but when we get there the server said not anymore,but why it still showing on the app, then our server was frustrated, looks like we have issues with communication and also the table next to us have same issues with him. Food was ok , not really spectacular and actually tasted so-so, my dishes were grilled hen and it’s still looked red , my friend has fish and it’s a bit fishy , the side dishes actually better than the main dishes . I been hearing about this place for a long time and finally would love to try it one time and made a decision to switched from the other restaurant last minute and I wish I shouldn’t do it. It’s a staffing issue for this places, the management should read all the reviews recently and see what they should be done.

I’ve been going to the rib room for the past 30 years. Tonight’s experience causes me to never want to return. For $500 you would expect a really amazing experience. Instead our food was cold, bland, main course entrees coming out at different times from one another. The service was really bad. Glasses were dirty. Finally, I did hear from a manager which I appreciate but the offer to do something into the future wasn’t super genuine. I’m sad to see this as tonight was a special occasion. Time for new management or ownership. Only then will I return.

Bar service rude taking 20 minutes to get Christmas drink and a Corona… bar not busy at all… empty!!! Took 15 minutes for someone to come to our table once seated and another 50 minutes for food to come out. Drinks remained empty unless stopped someone, ANYONE, for refills!!! Will NOT be back!!!

Food was okay but not spectacular. The service was rushed and unprofessional. Staff leaning over my partner’s plate to grab things while he was eating, tossing plates on the table and rushing away. Overall, not an enjoyable experience and one we will not be repeating

Short rib is usually very tender and tasty. Sauce was extremely salty. Rib was dry and tough, and did not even appear to be a short rib, but beef cut to appear the same. I don't think it was the case, but it was much less than I have become accustomed to enjoying at the Rib Room.

We made a reservation for 6:00 pm. It was not a busy evening and was seated right away. They served us water and bead in a paper bag. We were never waited on to get drinks or our food order even after 15 minutes…..! Servers walked all around us and even the host that seated us saw us and never even asked if we had been taken care of. Don’t waste your time or money here!! Too many other options for eating in the French Quarter.

Worst dining experience in over 20yrs living here. Was walked to our table and found a dirty tray in my husband's seat (along with no napkin). Over 10 minutes to be greeted then waited 25 minutes for our first course and 15-20 for each one after that. Food was underseasoned and either undercooked (carrots, veg in the soup) or overcooked (rubbery creme brulee, tough osso bucco). Numerous items were literally cold. I cannot believe we spent $150 on this awful meal and that, at no point while we were sending half-eaten plates of food back to the kitchen, did anyone even bother to ask if something was wrong. Maybe this kind of food and service is acceptable for tourists visiting from Minnesota and wearing Mardi Gras beads in July, but locals who know fine dining should steer clear.
