The Roof Restaurant is Utah’s premier gourmet dining buffet, located on the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Our menu includes our renowned dessert buffet and exciting international cuisine along with traditional favorites that change monthly.

Reservations are recommended. Call ahead to experience gourmet dining you’re sure to remember.
Note: no alcohol or coffee is served.

PRICING: Adults $46.00, Vegetarian $36.00, Youth (5-11): 23.00, Child (under 5): Free

The Joseph Smith Memorial Building Underground Parking has a in-street entrance is on South Temple street. Please enter west-bound on South Temple. As you turn onto South Temple, the entrance is on the left. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right to enter the Joseph Smith Memorial Building garage.

The City Center Stop on the Trax Blue-Line is within a 3-minute walking distance to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

We absolutely love The Roof restaurant. The food is quality and the atmosphere is amazing! Loved the Piano playing, loved our waitress. It was a perfect night.

Loved it! I have to eat gluten free and there were a lot of gluten free and very tasty options! The atmosphere and views are wonderful! Very romantic!! I love the prime rib, among many other options!!

Superior Service! The wait staff was flawless, our personal server left nothing to be desired. The used plates and utensils were removed and replaced with a fresh napkin each time we would ascend the small staircase to the buffet. The pianist was exceptional at keeping the mood light and yet romantic if desired. He was both talented and personable. His smile as you would catch his eye was infectious and made the experience of being at The Roof Restaurant that much more special. Celebrating 2 birthdays that evening was a delight, the food was displayed in a proper rotation for the palate and the taste of each item was exceptional. Truly a special place.

My friend and I went to the Roof to celebrate our birthdays. it was my first time there. I would rank the service excellent, except that when we got up to get dessert, we came back to our table being cleared away. the young lady apologized and reset the table. We were fine with it, except the regular waitress made the following comment: "Well she saw how long you have been here and thought you would be done by now". What a rude thing to say to paying customers! We traveled an hour to get there and wanted to relax and enjoy our dinner while visiting. We did not intend to be rude and take up the time for other people. We were not told there was a timeline on our dinner. Which was $50 per person. I was very disappointed to be treated that way but I still left a generous tip.

The view of the city & Temple Square is inspiring, especially at sunset. The service and food are excellent as well as the music. Thank you for helping us celebrate our wedding anniversary! Everything was perfect!

The Roof is an outstanding restaurant. With the restaurant located on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and overlooking Temple Square, the ambiance can’t be beat. The food is always excellent, and this visit was no different. Lot’s of top notch entree’s and fresh sides to choose from - and the desserts are amazing! The service has always been a strong point at The Roof. We were there with my so. For a special occasion for my son, and they made him feel like a king. The servers chat with you and really get to know you, and offer suggestions of things you should try at the restaurant. Truly a wonderful experience over all. I’m never disappointed when I go to The Roof.
