The Smith is a casual American brasserie with four upbeat locations in New York City: The Smith East Village, The Smith Midtown, The Smith Lincoln Square, and The Smith NoMad, as well as locations in DC and Chicago.     We came here for a date before going to the NY comedy club for a show. The hostess was very warm and welcoming, the waitress we had was super bubbly and nice. She came to the table often checking if we had water and if we needed anything. At the end she even offered us desert on the house which was amazing and delicious. I had the smoked burger which tasted amazing and my wife had the brick chicken which was so soft and juicy. Overall great experience, lovely staff, tasty food.

    Went here because reviews said they were friendly for GF folks and we had someone in our party who has an intolerance as well as other allergies. However, any time we had a question about allergies, our waitress (who was very kind and definitely working understaffed) would be gone for a really long time before coming back with an answer, resulting in it taking more than 30 minutes for us to order anything. Would have still given this a higher review because the staff were all very kind and welcoming, but I also had (no exaggeration) the worst dirty martini I've ever had -- like drinking out of a bottle of dry vermouth. Something was very wrong with that beverage. Food was delicious and there were fair proportions for the price. Drinks were not worth the price.

    Great place for groups, we were about 12 people, who also came at different times. The service was amazing and was able to cater to everyone.

    We had a nice time this past Saturday night. My wife & I came with a friend. The service & attention to detail was outstanding. Our friend is lactose intolerant so the waiter & a manager made sure what he was ordering was non dairy. I had the ribs which were pretty good my wife had chicken Milanese which also was pretty good & our friend had the burger which he said was very good. The fries were cold unfortunately. Thanks
