The Strand House is a sophisticated yet comfortable family-owned restaurant conceived by a small group of South Bay families out of their love for great food, wine and friends. With floor to ceiling glass windows and 180° sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, world travelers and locals alike may come for the view, but stay for Chef Chris Park’s Coastal California Cuisine.

Our menu highlights the bounty of produce available year round in Southern California. Each week, our chefs roam the farmers market sourcing directly from the best farmers and purveyors around. The Strand House is also home to a thoughtful and carefully crafted cocktail and wine program that is sure to please each of our guests.

We are located in beautiful downtown Manhattan Beach, just steps from the famous Manhattan Beach Pier. The Strand House offers a five-star experience with the warmth and hospitality you would expect from a beach town, where each guest is treated like family.

    Overall, a nice place for brunch. Lots of construction going on outside restaurant, so it was noisy at 1st seating. A table opened up as we were seated and we’re able to move. It was much more quieter.

    As usual everything was excellent. I had the ahi salad and my friend had an avocado salad. Service was excellent and the view is incomparable.

    Food was awesome. You can tell the chef really cares about the ingredients and the combinations of flavors. I had the New England clam chowder which was out of this world and I am from Long Island NY, so I know chowder. I had the mahi tacos which I have all the time since I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The tortilla was corn meal home made and the flavors were amazing. My wife had the tuna steak sandwich with charred Brussel sprouts which was amazing. The view is incredible. Service was great. Highly recommend.

    I booked this reservation to propose to my fiancé. We did get there 15 minutes early and when you go upstairs, it is very nice. We did have a little bit of a tight table for just the two of us, but I was just focused on having a good time with her. The server was very attentive and did outstanding during the time of our evening. I ordered the 12 ounce New York steak, medium rare and my fiancé ordered the beef medium rare both came out excellent and beautifully done. The fries they had as well too, that came out with homemade ketchup and garlic, aïoli as well too for the dip was superduper delicious and I would love to try it again. Honestly, another thing that was very underrated in the entire menu was the buttermilk biscuits that they did serve. I wanted to order two more boxes, but my fiancé say no lol. Expect to spend for two people with one glass of wine you can walk out between 100 to 250 and that does include the tip. I would 100% book at this restaurant again and I highly recommend it to anyone.

    First time dining here - but not the last. Unparalleled ocean views, ambience, food and service. I could go on, but my fingers are tired from the long and positive review I just typed on Yelp. Highly recommend The Strand House!

    Let’s just say I am never going back to The Strand House. My burger was literally raw hamburger. It had probably been cooked on each side for less than 30 seconds. The staff were poorly trained from the kitchen to the waiters. They definitely have a management issue. To charge $27 dollars for a hamburger & to serve it raw was surprising. There are better restaurants in Manhattan Beach. Even the beef burrito lacked flavor. I would recommend eating at Nicks in MB. I’ve eaten there many times & have always been impressed with their service & food. You should probably make reservations for Nicks. It’s one of the popular restaurants for the MB locals.

    My husband and I had a memorable dinner last night. Service was impeccable. My husband uses a Seeing Eye Dog and we felt welcomed. Kudos to the service staff and the chef! The food and drinks (try a Bloody Mary here) were sublime. We wish we had a restaurant of this quality near where we live! Happy Thanksgiving!
