Established in 2001, The Tasting Room restaurant and wine bar has earned a reputation as a modern American force in the Frederick area. The octopus was exceptional: grilled crispy, yet moist and tender on the inside. The combination with harissa and salty nuts was superb. Haloomi also very good. Mains: scallops with corn, a fun surprise; filet, nicely prepared.

Dinner. It used to be fantastic. Now, not so much. We did a couples date night .Everyone’s meal was salty as hell ,over salted to the point where you had to stop eating it. Flat iron steak - half medium the other half well done , how? and over salted. Scallops were like eating salt blocks, absolutely the worst and inedible. Filet for 60$ over cooked. Gnocchi were very big and tasteless and again salted to hell. Drinks/martini very sweet sub-par. Value here is unacceptable. Bad meal all around. The Outback does better meat for christ sakes. Wake up chefs!

Ate here 24 years ago when it first opened and the food was so good I went 3times a week, I took my wife back there on a ride from Annapolis and the food was outstanding, can’t wait to go back again!

what a wonderful evening at the Tasting Room. We were a group of 8 visiting Frederick and were given this restaurant as a great place to have dinner. It did not disappoint. Service was fantastic! Food was delicious and well presented. We felt like we had a private table . The evening could not have been better. Great friends, Great food and a great restaurant!

This was a business meeting lunch. The cuisine was below the standards of the Tasting Room. The lamb burger was dry overcooked and strong tasting. The restaurant has changed the French fries, the new version is chunky and they were cold. Our server Zak was attentive! Overall I'll chaulk this up to a bad day at the tasting room. I dine often here and will give it another try soon.
