Second time dining here this week. This was a business dinner, we were paced well, food was delicious and server did not rush us.

The service was excellent and food was fine but for the price I would have expected a more festive ambiance. When we first arrived there was no one at the host station and while our server (there was only one working that day) was great, the whole experience just didn’t feel as special as other hotel high teas.

Wonderful holiday tea service! We loved the special touches on the dessert tray; the chocolate Santa’s and sugar bears were such a cute touch. Thank you for making our afternoon a special one.

I read the reviews online with dread but still opted to give afternoon tea here a try. My mistake. The tea was hot, unlike other reviewers' cold water, so no complaint there. But as others have said, for a fancy afternoon tea, the tea should be loose. A tea bag is chump. I've got tea bags in my house. And yes, as warned by other diners, the food was hugely disappointing. The finger sandwiches were flavorless, with cold, hard, dry, seemingly stale bread hosting flavorless dreck. The scones were equally hard and dry. Having traveled to England and Scotland, I knew what treasure a well-made scone can be. And the petit fours really did appear to be abstract crap bought at The Giant and thrown on a plate. Lesson learned.
