Situated in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, The Vintner is a natural meeting place, be it for a coffee or something a little stronger in the café / bar, a meal in our restaurant or when getting together more formally in our Private Dining Room.

We have a diverse and thoughtful menu, locally-sourced and seasonally adjusted, as well as a comprehensive range of fine wines and beers from all over the world.

'The Vintner' derives its name from the year 1600, when John Smith traded, along with his wife, as a wine merchant (vintner) in this building. It is more than likely that William Shakespeare purchased his wine from here!

We come to Stratford twice a year and always go to this restaurant, the food and service are consistently excellent. The ambience in the restaurant is relaxed and comfortable, food is served with really long waits and there is a good choice. We will return next time.

The meal was nice, the only negative feedback I would have is that we ordered the side of Cauliflower Cheese and there was next to no taste of cheese, it was very bland. The beef was delicious and the rest of the meal was delicious.

Everything was excellent, except for the desserts which were very disappointing. The Banoffi pie used to be excellent, but is now bland and more like cheesecake texture and no toffee like taste. The Apple and Rhubarb Crumble was terrible. It was watery, had the consistency of baby food and was over sweet. The custard was thin and only slightly warm. Everything else was very good.

Food very tasty and extremely hot.....plates and food.....that's great. Good choice and was able to swop chips for a salad..so that's good Think everyone tried hard and chef and waitresses very good.

Phenomenal meal and stellar service! This is our favourite plan in Stratford upon Avon, dating back twenty years ago when we first ate there. My son adored the burger, and it continued to win his heart. I had the set menu with a hearty chicken liver pate appy, a beautiful sea bream in a sauce with potatoes and a tasty banoffee pie. Great beer, cider choices and a nice espresso capped it off. Our server was the warmest lady, as was the hostess. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and ridiculously historic. Prices were quite reasonable for such a fine dining meal. Easy walking distance to the RSC.

Good food, lovely staff, well priced. If you live near by, or you’re visiting Stratford, definitely worth stopping in to The Vintner.

A lovely warm greeting as usual from all the staff at Vida we had Tapas at the bar all dishes were fabulous really tasty finished with coffee again delicious
