Booked a table, turned up, told to wait 1 min for table prep, ended up waiting almost 10 mins, others who came after got seated straight away. Table was opposite food counter so busy and noisy. No side plates when given bread and butter. Fillet that I ordered was tiny, no steak knife, had to ask for it. Seemed to try and rush me out. Decor was poor in terms of xmas. Not what I had expected from a well established restaurant.

A wonderful place to celebrate anything! A delightful evening meeting up with a cousin who lives in America and had never been to the Wolsley.

Disappointing and not to the standard it used to be. When we arrived it was very chaotic with a long queue of people all waiting to confirm their booking. We had a very long wait for our table in addition, followed by a very disjointed service - there didn’t seem to be enough staff to adequately serve the tables. We had the afternoon tea menu and the food was very average - sandwiches were ok at best, the scones were passable and cakes disappointing. Sadly the quality seems to have gone downhill. The atmosphere was great though and the decor is still very impressive.

When booking we only had 2 options, 11.45 or 3pm. We were booking for lunch and did not mind a later lunch so went with the 3pm time. It was very busy as usual and by the time we were sat down it was 3.15. We asked for the lunch menu’s and were told that lunch was no longer an option as it was passed 3pm by the time we were served. Always a good venue but missed a beat on this occasion.

What a lovely place to have lunch, beautiful dining room, the staff were lovely and friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and whole experience was wonderful, we will be back ! Helen and Derrick x

There are a few steps at the entry to the restaurant, but the restaurant is made accessible by the very kind service of the doorpeople who deploy a ramp at your request. Rain or shine. I thank them for this.

I had to return the sole à la grenobloise. It was overcooked or reheated . I got the salade nicoise in stead . Thank you for helping me with the ramp, and my scooter. It was lovely to be back. Will have breakfast with my boss on Friday 13 Dec. i’m hoping for the best!

Lovely starter and main, somewhat stale desserts (eclair and battenburg). Below average service. Not sure what was up with the waiter. Surly, forgot the second bottle of water and almost forgot the stale desserts…… unfortunate as usually very good here.
