Tom Ham’s Lighthouse is the only restaurant in the US to have a USCG operated & maintained Lighthouse attached to it. You can locate us on any modern nautical map as Beacon #9. Featuring a 100% responsibly resourced seafood menu & award winning Sunday Champagne Brunch, we are a must when it comes to the San Diego food scene. The dining room, purposely shaped like the state of California, allows for groups as grand as 50 yet private enough for a couple’s night out. Outdoor with heaters at dinner provided a great view of downtown. However, the linguini was clumpy.

It was fabulous!!! Food as always was delicious ! There was a “mishap” with delivery of food but corrected very quickly and our server gave us free glasses of wine AND dessert which was truly beyond the call of duty. This has always been one of our favorite restaurants and certainly continues to be!

Visit 4 or so: Food was ok, apps better than entrees once again. Pretty bad wines by the glass. Horrible service, tonight by disappearing Desiree, not watching our table or even getting things needed to eat or things we asked for. Another SCAM & maybe illegal is that they add the 5% tip (service charge) for the Owner only & then TAX you on that charge also, for us that was + $20. more. CA Law does not TAX tips or owner “Service Charges” I believe & have the ABUSED customer pay more than what is usual & standard (tax only on foods & bevs consumed in premises). Night manager “Monty” firmly states this Tax on the Service Charge is “perfectly legal.” Not again.

Everything about the food was excellent including the oysters, the lobster bisque, the Caesar salad and especially the fish and chips. Our drinks were well made and worth the money. The view is amazing and the service is great. Don't miss this experience when you are in San Diego.

It is a beautiful restaurant that I have eaten at many times before with no complaints, but the buffet yesterday was very disappointing. The lobster claws were inedible and the oysters and crab legs were salty and did not taste fresh. The prime rib was chewy and cold. Other items were tasty, but with those main dishes a disappointment, the buffet was not a great experience. The service was good and it is a beautiful spot.
