Toups' Meatery is a contemporary Cajun restaurant featuring fine food, wine, specialty cocktails, extensive Bourbon selection and charcuterie inspired by deep-rooted Louisiana family traditions. Chef Isaac Toups represents the new guard of Cajun chefs for his updated refined approach to rustic dishes. Cooking the food that’s closest to his heart has earned him rave reviews including recently being named a James Beard Semi-Finalist for Best Chef of the South 2014 & 2015. Located in beautiful Mid City near City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Like his mentor Emeril Lagasse, Toups gives Cajun classics a sophisticated spin with signature dishes like a double-cut pork chop with dirty rice and cane syrup gastrique. A rustic-chic space with a shaded plant-decked patio, pitch-perfect wines, and an extensive bourbon collection add to the lively vibe—just as a New Orleans restaurant should be.

            The food was outstanding! Highly recommend. The chef told us that bravery is rewarded in his restaurant and that was the truth! We tired things we were slightly apprehensive about but were certainly rewarded. Can’t wait to come back to NoLa to come here again!

            My husband and I visited Toup’s for our anniversary. We made our reservation online and the restaurant was aware we were there for a special evening. They greeted us with a Happy Anniversary and brought us two mocktails as a gift. We ordered the meat board and broccoli salad to share and it was fantastic! The meats were paired well with additions on the board, the salad crisp and flavorful. 100% would revisit and recommend! Fantastic hospitality, service and flavor.

            We had great meals, smoked duck and oxtail. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend Toups Meatery.

            Wonderful experience. The boudin balls were outstanding and everything else we ordered was delicious. The service was terrific and the atmosphere friendly.

            We ent for brunch and as usual we were a bit early. They were just opening but were very gracious about seating us. We had the cheese trio, turkey necks, cracklings, and crab claws. Service was prompt. All of the food was very fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

            The playlist alone earns a 5-star rating. The service and food on top of that blew my group away. 2 friends shared the pork chop and I could have easily shared as well. The chicken thighs were super juicy and the greens would have made my grandmother proud. Definitely get the cornbread and slather it with butter. A friend recommended Toups and my love for Isaac on Top Chef cemented making the reservation. The actual experience exceeded my expectations. Will def return.

            We always love to bring our friends Toups. We know that the food will be fantastic, the service will be great and we’ll have an amazing time. And today was no different. The beef hash was amazing.

            I enjoyed visiting Toups Meatery. Loved the shrimp and grits. Also the cheese platter was very good. The airy restaurant was delightful. Our waiter was also very nice and explained the menu.
