Toups' Meatery is a contemporary Cajun restaurant featuring fine food, wine, specialty cocktails, extensive Bourbon selection and charcuterie inspired by deep-rooted Louisiana family traditions. Chef Isaac Toups represents the new guard of Cajun chefs for his updated refined approach to rustic dishes. Cooking the food that’s closest to his heart has earned him rave reviews including recently being named a James Beard Semi-Finalist for Best Chef of the South 2014 & 2015. Located in beautiful Mid City near City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art.

            It was my first time here with my husband the day after Valentine's Day, and it was still very busy. The food is excellent, and we will likely return to try some items we are interested in but did not order this time. They may need to hire extra wait staff as service, while good, was spotty due to the waitress having to tend to so many tables.

            We selected the broccoli cesar to start. The dressing was perfect and more than enough to share. The pop of fresh garlic and anchovies really delivered. For dinner we had the scallops on special and the fried oyster salad. Both were excellent. Perfectly prepared, more than generous. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed. So glad we found Toups!

            Very unique menu that is a carnivor's delight! Lamb neck and chicken confit were off the chain good. Also highly recommend the Meatery Board, which offers a variety of their offerings.
