   Attentive but not overbearing service. We had the risotto, seabass, pasta and lamb. Everything was delicious and they offered a small and large portion size. The small portion size was more than enough for all of us. Very quiet and great to carry on conversations.

   Trio never disappoints. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. The quaint Italian atmosphere is charming and cozy and comfortable. I take all of my out of town friends here. Love it!

   Full honesty I wanted to love Trio - have been to many of the upscale restaurants in PVR and Trio was reserved for a Sunday night date with my boyfriend just to relax and unwind. Will start with the positive. The setting is absolutely beautiful - an old timey Italian cafe vibe with an inside garden that we sat in was perfect. The restaurant was almost empty at 7:30 on a Sunday - only 2 other tables in the whole restaurant were occupied, 7 diners in total and 2 waiters told me that we should be expecting great service to go along with the great food reviews had mentioned. Sadly this was not the experience I had - we had to call the waiters over from nearby tables on 4 separate occasions and when they weren’t there had to raise our hands for 2 mins before they noticed. The food: Many of their dishes came in half and full sizes. Since it was a date night we got everything in full size so we could share - this ended up being a mistake for all but one dish as we didn’t finish most of the food. The chile poblano appetizer was just bad. The weird arugula salad + poblano chile filled with veg that wasn’t cooked well and a strongly ginger sauce made for a weird and unappetizing first course that felt confused at best. We finished less than half before deciding to move onto main courses. The beef filet was fine I guess? Not outstanding for the price, I needed to ask for salt and pepper because it was bland and the veg was well cooked but once again bland. The sauces were a little too acidic for a typical red wine reduction for me so felt like they used a cheaper red wine to make it than I would expect for the price points. Also alliums and herbs are a thing in Italian cooking and should have been used more freely. The highlight food wise was the red snapper with roasted grapes and garlic mashed potatoes. The only dish we actually finished and would give it an 8.5/10. Was fresh and delicious and would order again.

   The food was delicious. I have never had a disappointing meal at Trio. I had the filet and my husband had the seabass. The somlier recommended a wine that was one of the best wines we have had. Trio is a must go for us each time we are in PV.

   Thank you to the chef for very memorable dinners. We Went twice during our stay. Food is amazing. Appetisers: baked oysters with a sauce, their seafood salad was to die for ! (better than I had in Spain or Italy). I am still craving it. Dinner: we highly recommend sea bass. We also tried their lobster special (April 2024) , pasta dishes but can’t remember which specifically- all were very flavourful. Deep flavours in every dish we tried without being heavy. Dinner cost for 2 was around $125 US dollars. Include 2 appetisers, 2 dinners, 1 dessert and drinks. Go! You will not disappointed.

   Our go to place in PV for a fine dining experience. Beet salad, risotto and sea bass are menu favorites! All delicious. Attentive service. As always, we plan to return to Trio’s.

    Trío is a must-visit in Puerto Vallarta! The chef is super creative, and the food is always delicious. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, with a nice sense of humor. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, yet sophisticated. I really liked the new addition to the atmosphere, which featured local artists. We had a great time, and Trío is always a lovely experience.
