Ulele (pronounced you-lay-lee) celebrates the vibrant fusion of ingredients from Florida waters and land once home to many Native Americans, including the legendary young princess Ulele.

Located on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, 400 yards from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Indoor and outdoor waterfront dining. Lunch and dinner daily. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Featuring intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on our 10' round barbacoa grill.

Ulele operates in the lovingly re-imagined 1903 Tampa Heights Water Works building, which also includes its Ulele Spring Brewery to provide a number of craft beers on tap. Next door to Water Works Park.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the indoor dining rooms.

    Uleles is always exceptional. The grilled oysters are always my favorite as is the pork shank and seafood risotto. Best to make a reservation as it’s always crowded. Anthony was a terrific server!!!

    The food and service were excellent. We had an outside table. I was unaware there were 2 sections for outside dining. One side has a nice bar and a great ambiance overlooking the water. The other side had a really awful atmosphere with no views other than someone’s private wedding and fencing. It was not nicely decorated and did not have the same vibe as the rest of the restaurant. It was like getting stuck eating at the kid’s table for holidays and that was very disappointing as I had friends visiting from out of state. I had told them what a great atmosphere it was going to be. I guess I should’ve known when there was actually an open reservation last minute on OoenTable as it is almost always fully booked. The overflow seating should be marked as such so I could have made the call whether to take the subpar seating or go elsewhere. The server, however, was great and so was the food.

    Bryson did a great job of pacing the courses of our meal! He shared suggestions and was very knowledgeable of the menu. We appreciated his pleasant and happy demeanor. We love Ulele and always go there when we are in town!

    Price too high for quality of food. The Chefs steak was tough and not cooked enough. Service was great.

    Highly recommend. Very enjoyable evening and meal. Some of the best service we've ever had, and the food was wonderful. Only complaint is that it was too loud (by design - as are many places these days.

    Thanks for your feedback, Gray. We're blessed to be a busy restaurant, but it can get louder on some nights. We've taken steps to remediate the volume, but we can do more.

    Great service and great food. We even got a visit from one of the managers, Mike,who was very welcoming and a pleasure to talk with.
