Ulele (pronounced you-lay-lee) celebrates the vibrant fusion of ingredients from Florida waters and land once home to many Native Americans, including the legendary young princess Ulele.

Located on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, 400 yards from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Indoor and outdoor waterfront dining. Lunch and dinner daily. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Featuring intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on our 10' round barbacoa grill.

Ulele operates in the lovingly re-imagined 1903 Tampa Heights Water Works building, which also includes its Ulele Spring Brewery to provide a number of craft beers on tap. Next door to Water Works Park.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the indoor dining rooms.

    The food was amazing as always. Our server (I can't remember his name) was wonderful. He was knowledge about the menu, great personality and never left us waiting for anything. I brought someone who'd never been there before and they will definitely be a repeat customer.

    After so many times of passing this place, we finally got to try out it out. Servers were nice, and they were able to accommodate us with our baby. Casual place. This place was disappointing based on our experience. We sat down on our table and our server asked us about our orders. And we asked about the burgers, because our table behind us got burgers as we were sitting down, and our server said “we only have burgers for lunch”. Oh okay so it’s a pick & choose type a customer service? Food we ordered: Mac & cheese (very delish no complaints), Calamari (very delish, but also a bit oily), Chef’s steak medium rare (we got a overcooked, dry, well done steak, and raw veggies), pork shank with fries, instead of mashed potatoes (a little bit in the harder to chew side, and got a mashed potatoes), Barry’s tomahawk pork chop, cooked medium as recommended (a little bit more than medium, also overcooked & dry), and braised short ribs (mediocre). All of this dissatisfaction for exactly $188 including tip. Never again.

    A very nice lunch (the short rib was very delicious). We sat outside on a December day and though slightly windy, it was wonderful. Would love to see smaller portions and prices for lunch, but this was another great lunch and experience at Ulele. We will be back 😊

    Oysters on the half shell were excellent! Ceviche, NY strip, and seafood risotto with bottles of Pinot Gris and Tempranillo wine all complemented each other. Service and attention the detailed capped off a memorable dining experience.

    Friendly warm and welcoming staff. The food was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful atmosphere. Definitely recommend. Five stars!

    Ulele never disappoints. The service was outstanding, and despite my reservation for three, they quickly accommodated our party of five with minimal wait time. The food was delicious, as always—flavorful and satisfying. Highly recommend for a great dining experience.

    Service excellent from April who worked to obtain onion free selection for my wife which was decent. However, my meat loaf dinner green beans were audent to overcooked, the onions strips tasted like out of a can, and the meatloaf itself had minimal meat visible and taste.

    Sorry to have disappointed. The meatloaf is all meat, as described in the menu. The onions are tobacco onions, made by deep-frying thin slices of onion with cayenne-seasoned flour until crispy and tobacco-colored. We should have done more to guide your selections.
