Ulele (pronounced you-lay-lee) celebrates the vibrant fusion of ingredients from Florida waters and land once home to many Native Americans, including the legendary young princess Ulele.

Located on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, 400 yards from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Indoor and outdoor waterfront dining. Lunch and dinner daily. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Featuring intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on our 10' round barbacoa grill.

Ulele operates in the lovingly re-imagined 1903 Tampa Heights Water Works building, which also includes its Ulele Spring Brewery to provide a number of craft beers on tap. Next door to Water Works Park.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the indoor dining rooms.

    It was excellent! I can’t say enough about this place. We sat outside and we were able to have a wonderful conversation! The service and the food were great! Can’t wait until I go again!

    Great food and service! The cocktails need a little bit more love and creativity. The noise level is deafening at times because of the open loft space. Otherwise great place to gather and eat

    Dinner was excellent. Menu choices, food quality and value were all excellent. Only downside was that server seemed overwhelmed. Very pleasant at the table but not available most of the time.

    The place is so loud we could not hear each other. My crab cakes were not good. And not hot. My Brussels sprout salad had too much lemon. That was all we could taste. My friend had soft shell crab and it was mediocre. It was not buy a great meal. My other friend had the portobello mushroom dish and it was good. Won’t go back.

    Julia our initial service was an absolute pleasure! She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly. She was replaced by Xena who stepped in and kept the same momentum! This was our first visit to Ulele but, it will not be our last! Thanks for a very memorable moment and fantastic service!

    It was the best dinner I have had in a while, dress code not as forced as per website but it ks a great place o dine aand have a fee drinks, the view is explended. Highly recommend

    High energy location with a cool industrial vibe. Great service and delicious food, topped off with live music. Very fun night. We'll be back soon!

    What a lovely gem of a restaurant. Our first time at the location and we were impressed. It was hopping. There was a private party happening but that didn’t impact us. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. Server greeted us promptly and reviewed the menu with recommendations which we appreciated. We ordered the shrimp cocktail (which the kelp layer would have turned me away), but my husband said the shrimp were very good. We also orders the corn beer muffins which were lovely. I got the short ribs and my husband got the Gouda grouper. Both were outstanding. The meal wasn’t rushed. Honestly my only complaint was they had all the doors open and it was freezing. I understand the vibe, but when everyone has their coats on inside, it’s too cold to be so cool…. We will be back. Wonderful evening.

    I’ve never had a bad experience at Ulele. Food was excellent. The staff was very conscientious of my celiac disease, making sure I ordered correctly and answering questions about ingredients.
